Pickers Creek

In December of 2009, Phil and Lydia Butler George, two active empty-nesters, decided it was time to go home. Both daughters, Alli and Abby, had gone to college and started lives of their own. With aspirations of turning their love for great wine into the reality of a vineyard and winery for all to enjoy, what better place to make this happen than the heart of Middle Tennessee where the wine industry was

beginning to make great strides in producing quality, award-winning wines. So they came home to the place where they both were raised Lewisburg, Tennessee. Back in the spring of 1950, Phils parents, Macklin and Elinor George, bought a small farm on South Berlin Road outside of Lewisburg. Some sixty years later, that farm which had once been tended for corn, tobacco, and hay, is now the home of Pickers Creek Winery. The vision for Pickers Creek was to combine elements of things that make life more enjoyable great music, art, and wine. They built a venue for tasting delicious wines while showcasing Lydias mosaics and paintings along with paintings by Phils sister, Janet White, and art from other local artists. Phils brother David created the stained glass that is the centerpiece of the tasting room. Phils brother, Kenneth, who also lives on the farm in the original homeplace, is the vineyard manager, music director, and a vital part of the every-day activities at the winery. Kenneth is also a picker and I am sure on any given night you can hear him pick and sing a few tunes. A visit to Pickers Creek will provide the opportunity to listen to plenty of great live music while sampling wines produced from Cabernet Sauvignon, Chambourcin, Muscadine, and other grapes that flourish in the Tennessee climate. With names like Harmony (a Chambourcin and Cabernet Sauvignon blend), Tennessee Twang (made from southern Muscadine

grapes ) and Blackberry Blues (a sweet berry wine), a tasting at Pickers Creek is like reliving the popular, old Volunteer Jam (without the smell or taste of reefer, whiskers, or fiddle bow rosin). Come sit on the wide porches or under the trees, or sit by the bonfire on a cool evening, listen to music and sip your favorite wines. Bring a picnic and lots of friends for a relaxing afternoon or evening overlooking the vineyard, the old rock wall, Pickers Creek or even take a stroll through the vineyard and down the abandoned railroad track. Spend a while in the gift shop looking at the art, pottery and many gift items. Wine, Art, Music the best life has to offer.

making process are covered from the history of Stonehaus, the grape growing, the crushing of grapes, the wine making process, and the bottling process. Personally guided tours are available through appointment. The gift shop has a wide selection of wine racks, gourmet foods, wine gift baskets, homemade fudge and more. The Halcyon Days Restaurant is the perfect spot for a romantic candle light rendezvous or a leisurely dinner with close friends. Sugarland Cellars

Reedy Creek Vineyards & Cellars

We are thrilled to bring you this exclusive opportunity to sample the wines of Tennessees hidden gem, Reedy Creek Vineyards. Reedy Creek is a labor of love for vintner Michael Reedy, a Bristol native who graduated from Tennessee High and Virginia Tech, and went on to co-found Pegasus Global a defense and security solutions company that provides integrated communications and countermeasure platforms to the U.S. Department of Defense and other entities. Reedy and his family moved back to the region in 2006 after several years in the Washington, D.C. area. The Reedy Creek vineyard blocks are the largest in Tennessee. Our regions elevation and ancient slate, shale and limestone soils combine to create a perfect environment for growing quality wine grapes. All of Reedys wines have a hint of minerality on the palate that is a perfect expression of the ground in which they are grown. Reedys inaugural, limited production releases are crafted in a food-friendly, classical European style. Michael Reedy will be in attendance to answer your questions about our selections like our Tempranillo, Pinot Gris, Cabriolet, Cabernet Sauvignon, La Diabla, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Ardoisiere Viognier, Chardonnay, and Syrah.

Spout Springs

On October 2012, Spout Springs Estates opened as a Tennessee Farm Winery. We are pleased to offer wines made from

at least 95% grapes grown right here in our own vineyards. Kim Hulette Satterwhite wrote, Thank you Alice and Chuck for the great hospitality. We enjoyed our private tour and wine tasting. Merle and I talked on the way home that the two of you are truly in the right business. Of all of the wineries that we have visited, Spout Springs Estates has no doubt been the most informative and friendliest! We made friends this afternoon that we will be sure to visit when we are in Blaine, Tennessee, again. Thank you for everything. We look forward to enjoying our wines that we purchased and will drink to our new friends Alice and Chuck. We also enjoyed our visit with Connie at Richland Cellars as well. Thanks again we wish you the best. Spout Spring Estates is one of the largest producers of Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes in Tennessee. Current efforts focus on production of high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Riesling grapes for use in our own wines, and for sale to wineries and home winemakers in Tennessee. The vineyard was established in 2004. We have Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon (more like a claret), and Stuben. In the spring of 2013, we will add Riesling and a Country Ries-

ling (sweet), a Sangiovese, a Chianti and a Cab Franc. We sell Cabernet Sauvignon Jelly and also provide a venue for weddings! Our hours are Friday, Saturday & Sunday: Noon to 8 p.m. Additional times by appointment only. Please call (865) 719-7485 in advance.
