the children were able to decide what type of house they wanted. Some children wanted straw houses so they glued yarn and pipe cleaners to their boxes. of children wanted stick houses so they used popsicle sticks on their boxes. The last group used diploes to make our houses of bricks.

REFERA-FRIEND
We would like to thank you for all of you wonderful words of praise about our Centers to your family and friends! Our program continues to grow through your referrals. Because of this, we are pleased to announce that the Refer-A-Friend incentive will continue throughout the year.

Another group the children shared stories about the houses that they live in, and who lives with them. We also learned that just like the three little pigs we to be able to talk about where they live. By using stories thechildren are better able to deal with things that go one in their own lives. Transitions can be hard on all of us and young children have a hard time verbalizing the things that they are worried about. This activity showed Sam and the other children that we all move to different houses from time to time and it's an ok thing to do, and that our whole family comes with us. We bring all our things with us to a new house. We decided what was the same and what was different about our houses. The children made a graph to show whether they

Our houses come in all colors; black, gray, blue, red, orange, white, green, yellow, and brown. They have also been able to share with us were their houses are. We have some children that live in Park Ridge, some in Chicago, and one girl tells us that she was born in China. We looked through our book of maps to see the places that we live.

Echoing the Rhythms

Music is a part of our daily program for all infants. Creating, listening, and engaging in music is important for infants. The many first experiences for infants, allows them to be introduced to rhythmic sounds repeating rhythms, tempo and high and low pitches.

Music gives children a way to identify with their emotions. When Michelle (music instructor) played up beat fast music it creates a fun and playful atmosphere where the children can move their bodies. It is easy to see that the children enjoy their time engaged in music by the responses they give their teachers and Michelle by smiling, clapping their hands and moving to the rhythm of music. We would like to express our thanks to the Board for their full financial support of the music classes this season.
