unfilled by the year 2020 - only 8 years from now, just due to the reason that all the will definitely arise in India also. To meet such demands, the engineering colleges in the country are to be equipped with advanced Mechatronics Training Centers and these centers must have high-tech manufacturing and process control equipment suitable for world-class training.
The Presence of ISRO units (VSSC, LPSC etc.) and Technopark will be an added attraction for the proposed centre, since industry-institute interaction programmes can enhance the technology, Kerala is ideal for setting up the Advanced Mechatronics Training Centre activities of the centre. With a high literacy, and a population famous for adapting to new
To introduce Mechantronic/Robotic systems to graduates To offer post graduate programme in Mechatronics finishing school. To offer add-on courses to graduates to enhance employability and to act as a To offer short-term continuing education programmes to working professional To provide facilities for carrying out research in the area of Mechatronics
To provide an integration of theory and practice by having close vital links with industry scholarships, etc. To encourage innovation and new product development

Role of Government
The administrative control of the progamme will be fully vested with the Government of
Kerala. Government will make arrangements to make use of the existing infrastructure available in the Mechanical Engineering Department, College of Engineering Trivandrum for running short-term and long term training programmes. The Centre will act as a focal point in leading research in the area of Mechatronic research and training.

Summary
Establishment of Centre for excellence in Mechatronics will help in generating skilled man this part of the country. Mechatronics is considered as a clean technology and the products power, will act as a platform for advanced research and attract talented graduates to hard
core engineering projects. Similar institutions and facilities are not existing at present in involved requires very low power requirements and suits the State of Kerala. With the ventures to the state as in the case of IT industry. This can even change the industrial scenario of the state. establishment of the centre, the skilled manpower and facilities will attract many new
