Club News Edition 4 For 2013

Junior Club Report WOW what a busy weekend it has been. On Saturday the youthgirls season began and we hosted Craigieburn & Deer Park followed by our girls vs Melbourne Uni unfortunately as Melbourne Uni were short on players this became a forfeit match. The girls still got to show their talents and played a scratch match with them. The youthgirls only play another two games at home so it would be great if we can get many supporters at their games. Also on Saturday our falcon mascot was invited to the Dennis Family Display Homes open day at Williams Landing. It was a great afternoon and most of the children loved our mascot, there were many photos taken with him, and the children loved the footballs he gave out supplied by Dennis Family. We have had a few suggestions for naming of our mascot these are: Fearless, Wyndy, Valecon, Nesty, Aya, Chayton, Mr Falcon. Keep the suggestons coming we will reveal the name in next weeks newsletter. On Sunday we saw some great football being played by all. It is great to see our U12 side having some wins after suffering so many defeats last season. Well done to all involved with the U12 side. We are still in need of players for our U10, U12 and U13 sides if you know of anyone interested in playing please get them to contact Adam on 0457 005 767. The Senior Football Club is hosting ladies day luncheon on Saturday May 11th 12pm -5pm. Tickets are $35.00 each, please contact Kylee Healy on 0413 451 584. Dont forget about our Shocking Shirt/Pizza Night on Friday 17th May, hope your all getting your shirts ready. Club photos are also coming up on Thursday 23rd May and Friday 24th May. Happy Mothers Day to all our mums on Sunday and, Good luck to all teams for the weekend. Adam Kimpton (Vice President/Junior Co-Ordinator)

Weather cloudy Track fine The short trip to Galvin Park to play a team that was 3 zip, as we were, we expected a tight contest. First qtr set the tone for the day with some hard forward pressure by Soni, Ky's fierce attack on the ball ,good forward movement by Chase, great shepherd by Moggsy and continual ball winning in the midfield by Zeb meant that we held the ball in our forward line for most of the qtr even though we were kicking into a 2-3 goal wind. Soni was outstanding and so strong across the forward line, and kicked 2 hard earned goals in this qtr , his forward pressure was amazing .When the opposition did go forward Youngy, Issy and Lucas were there to repel their attacks and turn them into scoring opportunities for usB Rob was playing smart defensive footy and doing his job of protecting his area while still giving us some more run from the backline. Brenton was buzzing round the oval covering more ground than the early settlers, Great qtr saw us 3 goals up at qtr time. The tackling was exceptional. Kuol started to get a lot of the ball in the 2nd qtr and we were looking dangerous kicking with the breeze Josh continued to work hard and was racking up possessions and scores. Mouldy was unstoppable all day setting up numerous attacks and getting amongst the goals. We were moving the ball quickly, combined with our strong forward pressure we were able to keep the opposition scoreless. Thanks to some great attacking defence from Issy and Youngy and great link work from Jordan we were able to move the ball quickly into our forward zone and kick 4.9 for the qtr.. The third qtr saw us continue with the relentless pressure and outscore the opposition into the wind again. Liam created some run and space from half back and controlled things in the defence this qtr .Jordan was running hard and smart to gather a lot of possessions throughout the game ,his accurate kicking into the forward zone set up scoring opportunities. We kicked 3.2 to 0.1. At the last break I gave the team a challenge to try and push the conversion rate up to 70% as we had 11.12 on the board it should have been a difficult task but 8 goals nil points in the last qtr saw that target reached. Ky was on a mission and he seemed to be in the right spot at the right time again and again slotting goal after goal it was great to watch. Every player did their role today, everyone got involved in one way or another to enable the team to play as well as they did today. Enjoy the moment, rest and recover, and prepare for next week. Final Score :Werribee Centrals 3.4.22 Wyndhamvale 20.12.132 Goals: Ky 5,Josh 4,Soni 3,Chippy ,Youngy 2,Bull,Issy,Liam,Jordan 1. Best: Josh, Zeb, Soni, Ky, Brenton, Liam, Youngy, Kuol, Issy, Jordan.

Under 10's match report We versed Caroline springs at home. Our first quarter started off slow but you were all doing everything that has been taught to you at training. The way you help each other as a team and shepherding skills are getting much better. Even though we were out numbered on the ground, the back line held up very strong and used Tom, Jerry and Sylvester very well. The second quarter saw you all wake up a little but it wasn't till the third quarter where real footy was being played by our team. There were some amazing plays down the back line that led the ball being ran down to our forwards strong and fast. Our tackling was fantastic and pressure around the ball was awesome. Thanks to Deklan from the under 12's for jumping in at half time and helping us out. Although we don't score, some amazing goals were kicked by Xavier, Dylan, Braiden and Will. Well done boys. We must man up and will focus on this more at training. Congratulations to Aaron and Xavier for receiving the heartland award for showing great sportsmanship, courage and determination. Thanks to Jeremy and Paul for sharing coaching duties. Thanks again to the parents for putting your hand up to volunteer your time as the kids love seeing us all involved and it definitely makes Michelle's job easier. Best - Team effort. Thanks our little superstars.

Wyndhamvale 8 6 54 defeated Manor Lakes 3 4 22

Hi All, Sunday was our 3rd home game in a row, this time against Manor Lakes. It was a very even contest for 3qtrs with a lot of end to end football. By the time that the 3rd siren sounded there was only 5 points in it. But our boys were determined to be the first at the ball and do all the hard work in the last which really paid off and we ran away in the last qtr and didn't allow our opposition to score. Great work boys you deserved this win!! A special thanks to Boo from under 11s and Cooper from under 13s for playing with us today, you both fitted in well with our team. Special thanks to Synott St. Fish and Chips who kindly give us an award for every game. Best: Great Team Effort once again. Goals: Jake.S 3, Arden 3, Tyler 2 Well Done Boys! Charlie

Senior Women
Taking on Melton away this week saw us add another 3 new faces to our ever changing lineup. We are continuing to grow as a team and this is evident in our game now. Our handball out to a running support player was a standout today. We are now looking for that player to be there. Our tackling was again strong and rewarded well this week. More players are getting involved in this part of the game, when done well this does make a difference to results and momentum. By half time we had a comfortable 3 goal lead, we were making space for each other and kicking well to our teammates that were clear and running. After half time, giving players different positions didnt change how we were playing, everyone took the initiative to be first to the ball and use it to our advantage. We have now had a look at all teams in our competition and if we continue to improve as we are , finals is well within our team. Keep training with purpose and the results will come. Remember no training this Friday, we have a bye this week. Great win Falcons. Melton 4-4=28 def by Wyndhamvale 9-10=64 Goals: Andy 3, Kerry 3, Kellee 2, Kirra 1 Best : Ali P. WYNDHAMVALE V SPOTSWOOD

We came into this weeks game knowing Sanctuary Lakes were going to be tough opponents and this proved to be true as they pushed us every step of the way. The first quarter was a seesawing tussle with us going into the first break with a slender 3 point lead. We opened the game up in the 2nd quarter with some good running, especially by our midfield who ran hard both ways. We managed to put on 5 goals 5 to their solitary point. I dont know if we got ahead of ourselves or just got a bit lazy in the third quarter but the scores were reversed with the opposition kicking 5 - 3 to our one point. It didnt help that we player 2 players short for part of the quarter. Start of the last quarter we lead by only 5 points and were still 2 players down, however we played some great football in this quarter, we dominated play, especially when we got our full complement of players onto the field. We ran out 24 point winners by playing gutsy and determined football, we never gave up and showed we can match it with better sides than the ones we have played so far. Our sacrificial acts were up to 94 this week which shows we are working hard for each other. Good to see things we are working on at training are coming into our game, like our run and spread and looking to switch the ball. Our communication is still a work in progress but is improving each week. Wyndhamvale 13 - 9 - 87 Sanctuary Lakes 9 - 9 - 63

Goals :- Amon, Stefan 3, Daniel, Jhosh 2, Monty, Jack G., Paday. Best :- GOOD TEAM EFFORT (this is what we want , everyone contributing) Thats all folks Bomber.

Wyndhamvale 5.3.33 def Spotswood 1.10.16

Another great win to the boys on sunday sees them undefeated and sitting second on the ladder. It was pleasing to see the boys playing as a team again and making it hard for the opposition to score. Jayden Ellis showed some of his old form coming back continually putting his head over the ball and being rewarded with free kicks. A lot of the boys played with that sort of commitment and spirit, but it only lasted for three quarters. Our last quarter was a shocker. We lacked that early commitment and allowed Spotswood to have six scoring shots to nil. Only bad kicking or should i say good defence stopped Spotswood from stealing a win. Boys, we must remember to hold our positions on the ground. We did it so well for the first two weeks, and the results speak for themselves. Goals- Mouse 2,Jordy 1,Griffo 1,Jacko 1. Under 13s Had a Bye

Under 9s It's was a perfect day for footy and our little falcons were determined to make up for a poor showing the week before. With a super warm up our boys got the jump on local rivals Hoppers Crossing. We were winning the footy all over the ground, we were first to the ball and really sharing the ball around after looking for our teammates. Our first goal came from some amazingly great teamwork from the midfield which ended in our big power forward Jayden 'giggles' Reid showing his superior strength getting the ball breaking through a tackle and kicking a solid first goal... Celebrating with a waving arm and getting the boys pumped. Our second goal for the quarter came from probably the hardest worker in our team Max 'junior' Logan, he picked the ball up with one hand sold some serious candy to 2 Hoppers Crossing opponents then calmly slotted a perfect drop punt post high over old man coons head for a goal. Kye Atkinson dominated getting countless touches in this first quarter and almost all of his kicks hit there targets. After a quick drink and an extra kick of enthusiasm from Tane 'torpedo' with an amazing chest mark from a massive kick from Noah 'coons' Cooney. Tane slotted the ball to Max 'junior' Logan who again used his blistering speed to break away and kick a pearla of a goal from a 45 degree angle 20m out for his 2nd goal for the day. You know the boys were up and about when everyone's favourite Ravi 'Ruthless' getting 5 possessions in the first 5 minutes of the quarter and laying two bone crunching tackles, the falcons saw this and stepped it up to another level when we started dominating play with 'Crispy skilled' Conner dishing out beautiful daisy cutter drop punts to teammates one of which ended with William 'Collo' getting the footy taking a bounce and kicking a long huge sausage roll that got all the parents thinking this kid is good enough to be playing seniors... 'Collo' also snagged another ripper later in the quarter to end up with 2 amazing goals for the quarter... Well done 'Collo' on your hard work. Late in the quarter Noah 'coons' stepped up and showed his dominance in the U/9 grade with 2 brutal shows of strength to mark the ball play on and as if rehearsed unload with a lethal left foot kick to sail over his dads (goal umpire) head for a goal, old man coons could not get the two fingers out fast enough to award the goal... And with an identical effort only minutes later Noah did it all again to finish with 2 ripper goals for the quarter. Our little falcon champions finished with 5 for the quarter in our best effort for 2 years. After a hand full of WADA approved snakes and oranges and a trademark half time speech from Evo the boys had that winning look in their eyes and continued the good form into the second half. Our own birthday boy Reagan 'reags' Dempsey decided to step up and dominate. He grabbed the ball on the boundary broke through 2 tackles took a bounce and with an awkward looking banana kick put through his first goal for the season and to prove it was no fluke 'Reags' did it all again only minutes later only this time he kicked a drop punt from the goal square after a blistering run and boy did the kid celebrate he have it the double fist pump and the continuous point to the stars as he was running back to the wing... Great effort 'Reags'. 'Crispy skilled' Conner was next on the goal scoring sheet with an absolute rip snorter, the crowd were up and about and I think I heard a Conner chant go around the ground as he calmly picked up the red pill and slotted it through for his first goal for the year... Conner your a gun, good work The final quarter was just some icing on the cake with our boys running all over hoppers crossing. Riley 'Lt Evo' Evans calmly picked the ball up in a pack and from the point post kicked a miraculous goal with a right foot snap it was a real humdinger... To prove that it was all skill and not luck the cheeky forward did it again only minutes later to leave the hoppers crossing players bewildered. It will sure be considered for goal of the year. But the best and most celebrated goal for the day came when our own gun Jack 'the Ripper' Jurowicz snagged a perfect snap snot goal with an amazing kick that was going every which way in the air but most importantly it sailed straight over the goal umpires hat for a GOAL. Jack celebrated his first ever goal with nearly the entire team jumping all over him with jack standing tall with his arms raised in relief he has finally kicked the first of many many goals in his football career. Great reward for effort Jack keep up the hard work mate. All in all it was an awesome day of footy for our falcon warriors as they are starting to be feared by other teams with our great football and fun celebrations on the field. See you all at training... Best.... Team effort, everyone did well Goals... Max 'junior' 2, Collo 2, Reags 2, Coons 2, Lt Evo 2, Jack 'the Ripper' 1, jaiden Giggles 1, 'Crispy skilled' Conner 1
