FANCY DRESS COMPETITION Saturday 29th November 2008

Hong Lim Park (1.30 2.30pm)

Rules and Regulations This competition is opened to children aged between 4-9 years. There will be 3 categories: 1. Category A (Age 4-6) 2. Category B (Age 7-9) Participants can choose desired costumes or characters from Indian Epics or storybook characters. Each participant should have a short narration of his or her character. Participant should adhere to a maximum time limit of 2 minutes including narration. Only solo performance is allowed. Participants will be judged according to character portrayed, creativity and presentations skills. The Organising Committee reserves the right to disallow any participant from the competition if they fail to comply with any rules and regulations of the competition. Judges decision is final. CHILDREN SINGING COMPETITION Friday 28th November 2008 Hong Lim Park (2 3pm) Rules and Regulations This competition is opened to children aged between 8-12 years. Participants can choose their own song.( Devotional or Cinema Songs) No background music or any other musical instrument will be allowed. Only solo singing is allowed. Participants should not exceed time limit of 5 minutes. Participants will be judged according to diction, expression, rhythm, pitch, Voice Capability and showmanship. The Organising Committee reserves the right to disallow any participant from the competition if they fail to comply with any rules and regulations of the competition. Judges decision is final. CARNATIC VOCAL COMPETITION Sunday 30th November 2008 Hong Lim Park (9.30am 11.00am) Rules and Regulations This competition is opened to young adults aged between 15- 22 years. Participants can choose their own krithi. No background music or any other musical instrument will be allowed. Only struthi box will be provided. Only solo singing is allowed. Participants should not exceed time limit of 5 minutes. Participants will be judged according to diction, expression, rhythm, struthi, Voice Capability and presentation. RANGOLI COMPETITION Sunday 30th November 2008 Hong Lim Park (2 3pm) Rules and Regulations This competition is opened to both adults and children. Each team must consist of 1 adult and 1 child. Eg (1 parent and 1 child) The kolam design must be related to Indian culture. Only rangoli kolams are allowed. Kolams are to be designed and produced on one piece of majong paper, which will be provided on the competition day. Kolam size should not exceed the size of one piece of majong paper. Teams are to bring their own materials for this competition. Time given to complete the kolam is 1 hour The judging criteria are as follows: Colour coordination, Aesthetic Appeal, Creativity, Representation of Indian culture. The Organising Committee reserves the right to disallow any participant from the competition if they fail to comply with any rules and regulations of the competition. Judges decision is final.
