SUMMARY

Highly experienced, creative scientist and emerging leader, with a demonstrated record
of sustained success in drug discovery and academic science. A collaborative
investigator who enjoys the challenge of identifying and implementing novel and
challenging research projects with the potential to address unmet medical needs. An
engaging communicator, equally comfortable interacting with academic and
pharmaceutical scientists, other functional specialists – including physicians – and
executives.

• Evaluation, selection and • Due diligence and evaluation of

implementation of internally external projects for in-licensing
identified research opportunities opportunities
• Established multiple academic and • Successful in acquiring funding
business partnerships from NIH and other sources
• Preclinical team leadership and • Published author of more than 30
clinical development team peer-reviewed manuscripts, and
participation numerous reports and
presentations

QUALIFICATION HIGHLIGHTS

Strategic Communication Experience

• As the MB07811 project leader, authored or co-authored internal document in
support of the development of MB07811 for the treatment of elevated LDL
cholesterol. Document package included scientific rationale, preclinical efficacy
and safety pharmacology data, regulatory strategy and hurdles, projected
patient populations and market analyses including marketed and potential
treatments currently in development
• Represented MB07811 in peer reviewed manuscripts, national meetings and
internal consultant and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) meetings
• Developed numerous non-confidential summaries for potential out-licensing
efforts
• Served as advisor on in-licensing opportunities and competitor analyses
• Authored numerous white papers and Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and
Threats (SWOT) analyses for different therapeutic areas

Therapeutic/Scientific Area Experience

• Extensive background in metabolic diseases and integrative physiology
• Systems biology approach to research and eagerness to implement the use of
new technology to gain fundamental insights
Edward Cable Resume

• Broad-based understanding of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic

principles for small molecules and macromolecular therapeutics
• Designed an implemented various technologically challenging assays including
enzyme, protein/RNA interaction, cell based transporter and in vitro
pharmacology assays

Management Experience
• Developmentally-oriented project manager
• Matrix team and cross-functional, permissive democratic leader who seeks the
best possible solution
• Experience in developing effective and efficient research programs to generate
go/no-go decisions

BD/IP Experience
• Identified and recruited KOL’s and CRO’s to contribute to projects
• Analyzed market opportunities and commercial viability of metabolic disease
targets including different therapeutic intervention strategies and IP space
• Evaluated and identified key IP spaces with freedom to operate for nuclear
receptor agonists, treatment of hepatic steatosis and novel peripheral
treatments for obesity
• Due diligence evaluating in-licensing opportunities and potential collaborations
