P R I N C I PA L S M E M O
CedarBridge Academy has had four history making achievements over the past two weeks. Our rugby team won the league for the first time and they have only been playing for two years! Our two KPMG investment teams made history by winning both a first and third place in the KPMG Investment Competition, a first for any school in the eight years that the competition has been in place. Last evening we won first place for the Alpha Beautillion, the first for CedarBridge Academy. The winner was Marcus H. Bean. S2 Jermiah Steede performed 106 & Park and won the competition.

ASSIGNMENT
Human GeographyStudents will be analyzing urbanization in developing countries (LEDCs) using case studies and video. They will focus on the various effects of this growth; solutions to this growth (i.e. New Towns); specific attention will be placed upon Calcutta, India. Students will begin to analyze the topic of Settlement related to Site & Situation.

Economic GeographyStudents will continue with the topic of the manufacturing Week of May 12, industry. They will complete the study of the steel manufacturing industry and its 2013 changing growth and decline; begin our study of the Quaternary Sector. (i.e. Silicon Valley, Cummings Research Park, Aztec West and Video Valley); and study the effects of Transnational/Multinational Corporations on local and international communities. IGCSE Geography CohortStudents should continue to review Paper 1 Packets, the vocabulary words/terms booklet, the diagrams, charts, OS Symbols and map activities PowerPoint, and any other relevant materials for the Paper 1 Exam to be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Weekly IGCSE Geography tutorials will continue as normal: Monday from 3:30-4:30; Tuesday at Lunch Time (half of lunch period) and Wednesday from 3:30-4:30. S4 BiologyPlease remind any of your sons/ daughters that have any outstanding assignments to please hand them in as soon as possible.
