To introduce the student to different approaches to Information systems analysis and design. To define and explain types of system, Business environment, Computer Based Information System(CBIS) I To define and describe the six phases of the systems development life cycle (SDLC). To describe in detail the systems planning, systems analysis, systems design, systems implementation, and systems operation and support phases of the SDLC. To implement the five phases of the SDLC in solving a real world information technology problem. To provide the student with a system analysis toolkit which can help in developing the five stages of the SDLC. To provide the students with a background into how IT supports a business environment. To provide the students with background into the role of a systems analyst and how they interact with users, managers and other IT staff.
