lacob SCHRECK then attended llllllh class, American Government class, Spanish Class and
was in the auditorium taking guitar lesson with teacher Lee ANDRES wilen some kids came
into the audi10rium and announced that someone was in the Commons area with a gun. He
peeked into the cafeterill and saw that the kids bad ducked under the tables and that a janitor
was in the corner instIUCting the kids to get down.
He temembered seeing a gun outside throw something into the senior parking lot. He
described him as being tall, baving some sort of mask and wearing a black trench coat. He
was carrying a shotgun.
Jacob immediately retreated to the auditorium. He was going to ran with other students
down a ballway toward the front of the building when he was aware that a gunman was
shooting down the hallway. He did not see this gunman. The group of kids he was with
then ran out the upper left doors of the auditorium and into the parking lot and to safety.
He left his backpack, his guitar and music in the auditorium on the stage. He was wearing
jeans, a green sweater and "Duck Martin" shoes (black dress shoes).
When asked if be used the Internet, he replied that he would occasionally look something up
and the last time he used a chat line was a year ago.
When asked if he knew anyone with a double pierced eyebrow. he stated that Brendan
RISBECK, a senior and a single pierced brown hole that has a last horse-shoe in it.
RISBECK is a varstty football player for the school.
I spoke briefly with Jacob's father who related that Jacob called bim from the nearby library
at 1:39 a.m. on that morning to tell them that he was safe. He also stated that he has
recently adopted lacob and is in the process of changing his name from Jacob VARELA or
Jacob SCHRECK.

On Sunday, April 25, 1999, Inve.~igatbr Ea~bn was assigned the

task of locating, contacting and interviewing Yashi Carroll (DaB
OG/al/SO) ,
Inv. Eaton responded to 7982 Euclid Way, Littleton, Colorado I
and was able to make contact with Yoshi Carroll. as well as his
father David and his mother Paula. Yoshi carroll and his parents
agreed to an interview with Inv. Eaton, All were present during
that i.nc er-vi.ev .
Xnv. Eaton conducted a full interview with ¥oshi Carroll and

asked that he first discuss his full day leading up to the homicide
at Columbine Hi h School,
carroll advised Inv, Eaton that he left home that date, for
schoel, at approximately 0715 hours He advised he arrived at
school at 0730 hours for his f~rst period. car~oll advised that
his first period class was Psychology. Carroll did mention that
Zack Heckler, a friend of suspect Harris and Klebcld, is in his
Psychology class. Carroll fur~her advised that Heckler has been
over to the Carroll residence on numerous occasions since the
incident at Columbine High sc~ool. r~v. Eaton asked Carroll to
explain his relationshlp with Heckle~" Ca~rQll advised Inv, Eaton
that he works the sound board i~ the auditorium at the school for
the drama department, He advised that Heckler works the lights, so

they work in conjunction with each other, Carroll mentioned that

when they had finished all work on the latest school play. "Smoke
In The Room, It Heckler stated co hint, !lye. know/ up until now I
really didn't like you, now I think you are okay, It Carroll advised
Inv, Eacon that he and Heckler get along very well now. !nv, Eaton
asked Carroll if he had noticed anything strange about Heckler on
Tuesday, April 20, 1999, in the morning class, Carroll advised
!nv. Eaton that he did not notice anything strange though he could
net recall if Heckler waS in elass that date.
carroll advised Inv. Eaton that second period is his free
period. He advised tnat he probably wandered the school some, and
probably went to the Tech Lab to do some work. Carroll advised
that he was also in the library for appxoximately one half hour
studying, during chis free period,
Carroll advised that his third period class is Philosophy.

Carroll advised that Eric Harris is in his Philosophy class, though
he was not in class on the past Tuesday, April 20, 1999. Carroll
advised chat Harris is usually quiec in PhLlosophy class and rarely
comments on any discussions taking place in class. Carroll advised
that Harris spoke so rarely in class that Carroll didn't have
enough of an opinion of Harris's beliefs or thoughts, He advised
that he doesn't recall Harris ever saying anything out of the
ordinary.
Carroll advised that his fourth period class is

English/Creative Writing. He advised that both Eric Harris and
Dylan Klebold are in that class with him. Carroll also advised
that Harr~s and Klebold's friends, Becka Hines and Nate Oykeman are
alsc in the class. Carroll advised that in this class they write
stories and poetry and diseuse them every Friday. Carroll advised
that on Friday chey generally break up into groups and recite their
stories or poems, and pick the base one or two to be recited to the
entire class. Carroll advissd that Harris, Dykeman, Klebold and
Hines wer~ all in a group together; and often read their stories to
the class. Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that Harris and Klebold's
group stories were often dark in nature and often about death.
Carroll did advise that on the Friday previous to the shootings,
which would have been April 16, 1999, Eric read two things in class
and was very excited about them. Carrell advised that Harris was
usually not like that in class. Carroll advised that one of the
things Harris read was something that he had on his web $ite. It
was titled something like IlWhat I Don't Like," or of :some such
natUre. Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that what Harris had read is
what has been on the television and in the newspapers. Carroll
added that the teacher of this class, Mrs, Kelly, may in fact still
have those items that were read to the class from Harris and
Klebold's group.
Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that neither Klebold nor Harris
were in class on Tuesday, April 20, 1999. He advised however, that

did not seem weird at the time, due to the fact that everybody in
the class is a senior and all are so bUsy with other classes they
often don't all show up during the weeki when they won't be doing
recitation.
Inv. Eaton asked Carroll if Dykeman was in cIa... carroll
advised Inv, EatOn that Nate Oykeman was in fact in class, and did
not appear to be acting abnormally. Carroll advised that he did
see Dykeman in the Tech Lab during his second period, or free
period, and observed Dykeman looking at a car magazine. He advised
that Dykeman was talking to him about moving to Florida with his
dad after school ended.
carroll advised Inv. Eaton that his fifth period class was his
painting class. He advised that while in painting class a fire
alarm sounded. Carroll advised Inv. Eaten that he believed it was
approximately 1130 when the fire alarm sounded and the class exited
out of the school and walked out into the park. Inv. Eaton had
Carroll mark ona map of the school where all his classes had been
and where he exited when the fire alarm sounded. Said map will be
attached to this report, Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that when the
fire alarm sounded and his class exited, nobody acted like this waa
anything other than a fire alarm
Carroll advised that onCe they were out of the school! he

began to notice large amounts of people coming OUt of the school.
He advised that while outside he met up with a friend by the name
of James Davis, He advised thac Davis is in video class with
Harris and Klebald. Carroll advised that he and Davis walked out
into the ball fields and learned what was caking place in school.
They advised other students were telling them what was caking place
and they reali~ed all the police were showing up. Carroll advised
Inv. Eaton that he and Pavis began to walk the long way aro~~d the
schoal in an attempt to gee Davis'S car and drive home and call
their parents and let them know they were okay. Carroll advised
Inv. Eaton that while on the playground! they told some women with
children to leave the area due to the fact tbat someone in the
school had a gun. Carroll advised at this point he knew nothing
else except that their might be somebody in the school with a gun.
Carroll also advised that he heard a rumor that a teacher had been
shot in the arm.
Carroll advised that he and Davis walked around for

approximately fifteen minutes when they realized they WQuldn!t be
able to get Davis'S car, due to the fact that the police had the
school blocked off. He stated at one point they walked up the big
hill in the park in an attempt to see what was caking place. He
advised that many of the students at the school call it Mount
Columbine. Carroll ~dvised that Davis thought it wasn't verI smart
to 90 up on the hill when there was shooting taking place at the
school. Carroll advised that he went to the top of the hill and
talked to other students who told him that the shootings had been

caused by the Trenchcoat Mafia. Carroll doesn't remember who it

was he spoke to on top of the hill due to the fact that he doesn't
believe it was anybody he was acquainted with. He advised that ehe
only person he recalls being there was a Dusty Hoffshieder.
Carroll advised that he did not see anythin9 from the hill taking
place at the school except for all the police vehicles driving into
the area. At that point Carroll started to realize how serious the
situation was,
Carroll advised that at one point he observed what appeared to
be adults sneaking out of the school and running into the ball
fields. He advised he belieVed one of these persons was the school
principal. He advised that he believed this due to the fact that
at one point the principal did come up to the hill and tell all of
the students to leave the area and get away from the school.
Carroll advised that on his way down the hill he began to hear
more shots and decided to gq home and call his parents. Carroll
adv~aed that he and Davis were walking ~ome and at so~ point, some
friends of Davis's pulled up and gave Davis a ride home, Carroll
advised that he walked home from the school
Inv, Eaton asked Carroll if he had heard any rumors about

anything like this taking place, or anything about the Trenchcoat
Mafia making threats. Carroll advised Inv, Eaton that he heard no
such rumors,
Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that occasionally in the Tech Lab

he had occasion to view Klebold and Harris's video. He advised
that: their school show liThe Rebel News Network, j, always began with
the initials burning from lighter fluid sprayed on the ground, He
advised that they often made other videos with toy guns. Carroll
advised Inv. Eaton that he never thought much of this due to the
fact that he and his friends have made action videos at the school
also, as well as ocher students. He did advise that he had once
seen a video of Klebold in a wooded area firing what appeared to be
a live firearm.
Carroll also advised Inv. Eaton that another student who was
a friend of his, Eric Veik, often sat in quiet areas of the school
with Harris and Klebold video taping their discussions. He advised
that he believed many of those videos would be in Veik's school
backpack, somewhere in the school, most likely in the video lab.
Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that he believed Veik may have glven
some of the videos to the police already.
Carroll advised Inv, Eaton that he had known Klebold since the
8th grade. ge advised they had been in Algebra class together at
Ken Caryl Mid~le school. He advised that he never saw much of
Klebold in high school though, until their senior year. Carroll
advised that Klebold was the sound man for the school plays and
often worked the sound board. He advised that Zack Heckler had

Carroll believes that Heckler told the teacher that Klebold was not
very good as a sound board man and suggested Carroll to cake

student whom he believed to be Chris Tabaldo, maintained the
school's web ae~!er and web page. He advised that those three
students had given themselves access co the web server and had sent
e-mail bombs out to other locations and were hacking into the
Jefferson Co~,ty School District computers. Carroll advised Inv.
Eaton that the three had lost this job due to their hacking.
Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that at the beginning of this school
year, his senior school year, he went to Mr RiCh Long, who ran the
computer program and asked if he could maintain the system to learn
more about computers. Carroll advised that he was iven the
res onsibility by Mr. Long,
Carroll also advised Inv. Eaton that one of his friends, Devon
Adams, a female student at Columbine High School, had been coming
to his house often, since the incident occurred, He advised that
on one occasion she received at telephone call at his residence and
began cryin after she hung up the phone.
Carroll advised Inv. Eaton that si~ce the incident had

occurred, numerous friends have been socializing at his house each
day and helping each other out. Carroll advised that the persons
socializing at his residence were Zack Heckler, k~drew Robinson

ON 081699 I telephonically interviewed Jo-Lee Gallegos. Gallegos had not

been interviewed prior to this date. Gallegos told me that she was at school
on the 20 th of April and in a paint class when the shooting began. She was in
class when the fire alarm sounded. She grabbed her things and slowly exited
the building. She walked to Clement Park. She saw a teacher on her way
over to the park. Mrs. Wasiecko, Mrs. Wasiecko told her to go home.
Gallegos did not know that a shooting had occurred. She reported that she
still thought it was a fire drill. She began to see other students running to the
park at the same time. She got a ride home from Erik Andreano a friend.
Andreano has been interviewed. She then learned of the incident through
the media.
She reports to seeing noting unusual on her way out of the school, except for
panicked students. She reported seeing a girl named Lydia. (LKU)
"Freaking out." Gallegos heard Lydia say that a friend called her the night
before and told her to stay away from school on the 20 th because something
bad was going to happen. Gallegos could not provide any more details. She
mentioned that it might not be related.
Gallegos knew Harris and K!ebold only because she had classes with them.
She said she thought they were nice guys. She never heard them talk about
killing or hurting people. Gallegos reported to having no prior knowledge of
this incident. She told me that she saw and heard nothing relating to the
shooting.

INVESTIGATION
On 081799 I telephonically interviewed Puanani Warnke, a teacher at

Columbine High School. Warnke was at school on April20 lh , 1999. She
was teaching a fifth hour painting class when she heard the fire alarm going
off. She was confused by the alarm, she thought it was a prank. The
administrative staff normally notified her if there was going to be a fire drill,
and she had not been notified. She told the students in her class to exit the
building in "fire alarm fashion"; she told them she would meet them in the
park, where she would take roll. As she was leaving the building she heard
from another staff member that the alarm was real
Warnke did not see shooting or shooters. She did hear loud noises.
When she got to the park she assisted by keeping cars out of the parking lot
As she was exiting the school, she remembers hearing a student tell another
student that he saw a shooter. She could not provide the name of the student
that made the statement.

she ran northward past the "smoker's pit." and climbed the fence into Clement Park. From there, Rebecca said that she
continued running northward into the park.

On May 19, 1999 Investigator Duane Eaton of the Arvada Police

Department was assigned investigative lead bearing control #2353.
~he source of the information was li~eed on the information control
sheet as Annie Carrocia. The information control sheet was
prepared by Detective Terry Demmel of the Denver Police
Department/Metro Gang Task Force. The narrative portion of the
f04m advised that at approximately ~130 hours on April 20, 1999 1
Carrocia was in her Photo ! class located on the second floor of

col~~ine High School ne~ to the gym area. The narrative portion
advised that a fire alarm was activated and that Carrocia and
approximately 25 students in her class walked ouc the north doors
next to the gym though bel~eving the fire alarm was set off as a
$enio~ prank. The narrative continues that Carrocia and the other
students were standing near the tennis courts outside of the school
when a male student told ~hem to run, due to the fact that there
was someone in the school with a gun. rnvestigator Eaton was
assigned the task of contacting Carrocia for a more detailed
.tnterview.
Investigator Eaton was able to make telephone contact with

Carrocia on this same date. Carroeia advised Investigator Eaton
that she had been interviewed in detail by Detective Oemmel of the
Denver police Department and that she had knowledge chat he had
completed a report of that interview. Carrocia advised
Investigat0 4 Eaton that she would prefer not to be in~erviewed if
that other report could be located. Investigator Eaton and Federal
Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Mike Barnett both made
telephone contact with Oemmel in an attempt to locate said report.
Deromel advised Investigator Eaton and Special Agent Sarnete that he
had completed a handwritten report ae the very beginning of the
investigation and turned it in to the Jefferson County Sheriff's
Office detectives. Neithe~ Investigator Eaton or Special Agent
Barnett were able to locate said report and it was determined that
Investigator Eaton would conduct a second interview of carrocia in
reference her involvement with the Columbine Kigh School incident.
Investigator Eaton once again made telephone contact with

Carrocia on May 27, 1999 at approximately lOSS hours. Investigator
Eaton advised Carrocia that he had been unable to locate Detective
Demmel'$ report and requested that ghe submit to a second interview
with Investigator Eaton. Carrocia agreed to an interview with
Investigator Eaton.
Carrocia advised Inve5t~9ator Eaton chat on April 20; 1999 a~

approximately 1130 hours, she was in her Photo I class; She
advised that the photo classroom is near the gymnasium on the Jc.o01- 005444
second floor of the school, She advised that at approximately
1130, the fire alarm activated and she believed that the alarm was

senior prank. carrocia advised In~estigator Eaton that her entire

class400m evacuated their classroom and exited the school through
a doorway near the gymnasium and out towards the tennis courts to
the north of the school. Carrocia advised Investigator Eaton that
prior to the fire alarm being activated, she could not recall
hearing any explosions or gunshots,
Carrocia adviaed Investigator Eaton that her and other
students exited the building and then stood in the area of the
tennis courts waiting for the all clear to reenter the school. She
advised that while standing out by the tennis courts, an unknown
male, possibly a teacher, told her and the other students to leave
the area due to the fact that there was somebody in the school
shooting Carrocia advised Investigator Eaton that she and the
other students climbed the fence and fled into Clement Park, She
advised that at one point approximately 400 students had gathered
together in the park area away from the school. Carrocia advised
that while in the park, she observed numerous police vehicles
arrive at the school and began to hear numerous gunshots around the
school. Carrocia advised that at one point while in the park, she
and the other students were asked by police and school staff to
respond to the public library in the park in order to insure
$afetYI submit to interviews ~~d contact parents.
Investigator Eaton asked Carrccia if she was acquainted with
or ever socialized with Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold or any of the
other Trench Coat Mafia associates. Carrocia advised Investigator
teton that she had heard of Eric Harris; Dylan Klebold and other
trench Coat Mafia members. She advised that she had heard their
names mentioned as the persons who dress in black and are members
of the Trench Coat Mafia. Carrocia advised Investigator Eaton that
she had really never heard much elee about the Trench Coat Mafi~
members. She advised that she did not know Harris or Klebcld and
that she did not even know them by sight.
Carrocia advised Investigator Eaton that on this date her I
first period class began at approximately 0730 hours, She advised

that first hour class was A1sebra II tausht by Mis. Laymon,

On 06-09·99, at about 10:25arn., I conducted a telephone interview with CRS studentNadineFinn as follow up on DN3906
Nadine toldme that on 04·20·99, at about II: 15 a.m.,she wasin her 5" period Photography class, locatedin the Photography
classroom in the school's northeast wing. Nadine said thatat about 11:25 a.m.,the fire alarmsounded. Nadine saidthat she
thenexiled the west door of the classroom and turned right. whereupon she walkednorthward and exited the school through
the doors located between the Woods and Band classrooms. Upon exiting the school, Nadine said that she walked "about ten
feet"awayfromtheschool,stopped,andwaitedfordirections, Atthatpoint,Nadine saidthatshe sawCHS DeanPeterHorvath
nearthe school'stenniscourts. Nadine said that he yelledat thestudents that"therewere kids withguns. and to get awayfrom
the school." Nadine said that she then began runningnorthward, past the tennis courts to the fence line on the south side of
Clement Park. Nadine said that she stoppedbriefly on the southsideofthe fenceto look around.at which pointher teacher.
BarbaraHirakawa. arrived and told everyoneto jumpthe fenceand run into ClementPark. Nadine said that"a whole bunch
of students" who had been in the cafeteria and on the west sideof the schoolbeganarrivingat this same time. and scaledthe
fencewith her and her classmates.

classroom in the school's northeast wing. Melanie said that she remembered hearingthe fire alarm soundshortly afterclass
began, but could not be more specific. Melanie said that she then exited the west door of the ciassrcom and turned right
whereupon she walkednorthward and exited the school through the doors locatedbetween the Woodsand Bandclassrooms.
Uponexitingthe school.Melaniesaidthat sheassumed itwasa rautinefirealarmand stoppedto talk withher friends. Melanie

and fellow student Luke Icke (12"') exited the classroom and turned right, whereupon they walked northward and exited the
school through the doors located betweenthe Woods and Band classrooms. Kathryn said that she and Lukewerethe firsttwo
within theirclassto exit the school,andthat upon walkingoutside,theybeganto slowlywalk northwardas theytalked. Kathryn
said that when she and Luke reachedthe north side of the Band classroom,near the "smoker's pit," they heard several "pops'
that were quicklyfollowed by a "loud 5OOod," Kathrynsaid that these noises appeared to have come from the farwest side of
the school, "on the other side of the gym or the cafeteria." Kathryn said that upon hearing this, Luke turned to her and said,
"I can't believe they did a senior prank without me."
Kathryn said that immediatelyafter Luke said this, they saw CHS Dean Peter Horvath standing near the far (east) side of the
tennis courts, Kathryn said that Mr. Horvath was holding a walkietalkie and began yelling at students to •get away from the

protocolby standingat the west doorway to theclassroomand ensuredthat all studentsexited theclass. Barbarasaidthat after
all studentshad exited, she scanned the classroom to make sure everybody was out Barham said that she then followed her
studentsas they walked northwardand out the exitdoors located between the Woods and Bandclassrooms.
Upon exitingthe school, Barbarasaid that CHS DeanPeter Horvath, who was near the tennis courts,yelled at the studentsto
run northwardto the fencelocatednearthe"smokingpit." Barbara saidthatsheandher studentsthen ran to the fence linethat

and made sure students got over the fence. Barbara saidthat several students attempted to climb backover the fence, toward
the school, to locatebrothersand sisters. Barberssaidthat thesestudents werestoppedby staffmembers and told to rerumto
the park.
Barbara said that once she climbedover the fence, police and lire officials beganto arriveen masse. Barbarasaid that she
proceeded northward intothe park,towardthe north parking lot. Barbara saidthat while shewas sitting on the grass. nearthe
north parkinglot of the park, she saw someone on the roof of the school. Barbara said that shejoked with other teachers thar
the person on the roof wasthe maintenance guy who"finallycameto fixmydamndarkroom fan." Barbara said thatshedidn't
know it at the time, but later learned(while at the school on 06·01,99) from one of the "county maintenance guys" that this
personwas, in fact, on the roofto repairthe darkroom fan which is locatedabovethe Photography classroom. Barbara said
that she was also told that the fan repairman had locked the roof access door after the shooting started.
Barberssaidthat once she climbed the fence and enteredClement Park, she didnot hear anyotherexplosions or gunshots due
to the noiseof numerous sirens and the helicopters flying above, Barbara said that while in the park, she overheard srudent
Alejandro "Alex" Marsh (11m) tell the first policeofficerto arrive, "r know who it is. I know what they're doing." Barbara
said that Alejandro wasimmediately detained and interviewed by otherofficers, Barbara saidthat shedid not recall Alejandra
mentioning any namesat that time,

Narrative:
On 5·7·99 I spoke with Hulse whotold me that he knewboth Harris and Klebold but knew Harris much
better and used to play the game "Doom" with Harris on their computers thru a bulletin board or chatroom
called "Enter Net"or "Mystical Realm" run by "Todd" phone 415·1895. Hulse confirmed that his screen
name is "Jlrnbo", He began playing andtalking on line with Harris around the end of Hulse's freshman year
and did so until Harris and Klebold "got into the trenchaoat thing" in their junior year (note: Hulse is oneyear
behind Harris and Klebold in school). Hulse knows the gameDoom and confirmed that you can develop
your own plans or blueprints In the game and remembers Harris talking in the bulletin board aboutwanting
to develop the plansfor Columbine HS for a game. Hulseneversaw any Doom plans for CHS. Harris also
went by a screen name"rebel doomer". Most of the time when Harris and Klebold were playing on line they
were at Harris' residence.
Hulse further advised that although he did get along with Harris (dUring their gaming days), he never got
along with Klebold and in fact Klebold hated Hulse. Hulse was in an independent studies class with Klebold
but was never allowed nearthe schools computers (due to a past hacking incident) and Hulse was always
given the computer assignments which very much upset Klebold.
At the lime of the incidenton 4·20·99 Hulse was in the photo room and didn't know anything was occurring
until he heard the fire alarm at around 1125 hrs • 1300hrs and exited the school thru the north doorin the
classroom and wentto the tennis courts. He neverheard any shooting or explosions.
Hulse concluded by saying that there is a common term used in bulletin boards or chatrooms. It is H-P·Y·
C·A recognized as being Hacking, Phreaking, Virus (or Yiril), Carding and Anarchy. These describe various
different criminal activities. Hulse has witnessed Harris occasionally usesome of these terms but could
remember nothing specific.

On 05·25·99, I was assigned control #341810 interview Kristin Johnson, a student at Columbine High School, who had fifth
period free on 4.20·99.
•>..ftet leaving several messages, I was able to contact Kristin Johnson by phone on 6·7-99. Johnson stated that on 4·20-99 she
had attended a marketingbanquet at the Welshire Inn. She lllated she did not return to Columbine High School until "10:45ish."
Johnson indicatedthat she wandered around the schooluntil fifth period began. I asked where it was she was wandering in the
school, and she slated that it was primarily at the main entrance near the offices of the school. She said that she sat on the
linoleum in that area. I asked Johnson if during her wandering she had been into the cafeteria, and she stated she had not
Johnson stated that her fifth period class she is a studentassistant in the photo lab for Mrs. Hirokawa. Johnson stated that about
15 minutesafter fifth period started the fire alarm Wont off. She stated that all the students in the class had gone out the closest
door, which is right next to the photo lab. I asked Johnsonif she had heard anything inside the school other than the fire alarm.
She stated that she did not. She stated lhal once she went outside she heard Mr. Horvath yelling that there were kids with guns
and to run. Johnson stated that she ran to Clement Park and did not see or hear anything after that.
I askedJohnson if she knew either Dylan Klebold or Eric Harris. She stated that she knew them by sight and had seen them m
the halls with their coats on. Johnson stated that she had not had any classes with them and didn't actually know them. 1asked
Johnson if she had seen either Kleboldor Harris on that day and she stated she bad nor, Johnson stated that her Sister, Shannon

Katie told me that on 04-20-99, at about 11: 15 a.m., she was in her 5" periodPhotography class. located in the Photography
classroom in the school's northeast wing. Katie saidthat at about 11:25 a.m., the fire alarm sounded. Katiesaid thatshe and
other students then exited the west door of the classroom and turned right. whereupon she walked northwardand exitedthe
schoolthroughthe doors locatedbetween the Woods and Bandclassrooms, Uponexitingthe school,KatiesaidthatDeanPeter
Horvathwas yelling at students to run northward to the fence line on the south side of Clement Park. Katie said that she
remembers Mr. Horvath sayingthat there was a "kid with a gun," and that she assumed "some stupidkid had brought a gun
to school." Katie said that she ran to the fence and assisted other students as they climbedover.
Katie said that prior to climbingover the fence herself. she heardwhat she assumed were gunshots coming from the south.

On 06-08-99, at about 12:40 p.m., I conducted a telephone interview with CHS student Valerie Peterson as follow up on
DN3916.
Valerie told me that on 04-20-99, at about II: 15a.m., she was in her S" period Photography class, located in the Photography
classroom in the school's northeast wing. Valerie said that at about 11:25a.m., the fire alarm sounded. Valerie said that she
then exited the west door of the classroom and turned right, whereupon she walked northward and exited the school through
the doors located between the Woodsand Baed classrooms. Uponexiting the school, Valerie saidthat she began to slowly walk
northward in the parking lot Valerie said that she then saw "a guy, I think he was a staff member" (CHSDean Peter Horvath)
near the tennis courts. Valerie saidthat he (Horvath)was yellingat the students to "get away fromthe school"and was"moving
his ann," in a sweeping motion away from the school. Valerie said that upon seeing this, she ran to the fence line near the
"smoker', pit," and stopped, Valerie said that when she turned around, she saw numerous students running northward from
the school, and other students running nonheast, around the gym, from the west side of the school. Valerie said that she then
heard what she thought was an explosion, which prompted her to jump the fence into Clement Park.

798·9250, was interviewed at his home in the presence of
columbine High Sohool student Matt Depew. After being advised of
the identity of the interviewing Agent and the nature of the
interview, Robson furnished the following information:
Robson is a Sophomore at Columbine High School. On
April 20, 1999, he was in his fifth period class when he heard
the fire alarm go off. This class is photography with Miss
Hirakawa. Attachment A is a diagram of Columbine High School.
Robson indicated on the diagram the location of his photography
class. The class followed the fire escape plan and left the
school building. After he exited the school he heard two loud
bangs and then a very loud third bang. He remembers looking
toward the area near the cafeteria. He believes the explosions
occurred over in that area as that was the direction that he
looked. He continued running frOm the school, going between the
tennis courts and the batting cages at Clement Park. A gentleman
who looked like a custodian for the school or a construction
worker ran towards the students exiting the school. He told them
to keep running as somebody had a gun. This individual wore a
white T-shirt, was wearing brown gloves and may have had a radio.
The students kept running and on the other side of the
basketball court everyone stopped. Then Someone said to keep on
running. Robson jumped the fence and went into the parking lot
located within Clement Park. Police officers approached them in
the parking lot and told them to keep moving away from the
school. Robson kept moving until he was at the public library on
Eowles Street.
Robson has spanish with Miss Frund during second
period. Announcements for the school are broadcast over the
Rebel News Network on televisions within the classroom. Robson
doesn't really pay attention to the announcements and does not
recall anything unusual about the announcements on April 20,
1999.
Robson's locker number is 1675 and is located near the
gym. He has a jacket and books in his locker. He left his

backpack in the photography classroom. The backpack contained a

calculator, books, notebooks and film. He had photo paper that
was either in his backpack or in his locker,
Robson knew Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Harris had
been in a gym class with Robson. Klebold was part of a fantasy
basement league in which Robson also participated. Robson can't
believe based upon what he knows of Harris and Klebold that they
could be involved in the shootings at the high school.

On 06·07·99, at about 10:35 a.rn.i I conducteda telephone interview withCBS studentEricaSzekeres as followupon DN3896.
Ericatold me that on 04-20-99,at about 11: 15 a.m., she was in her 5" periodPhotography class, locatedin the Photography
classroom in the school's northeast wing. Erica said that afterarriving in class, she started to developsome film. Ericasaid
that after "about ten minutes" (1 i:25 a.m.), the fire alarm sounded. Erica said that she then exited the west door of the
classroom and turned right, whereupon she walkednorth....'ard and exited the school through the doors located between the
Woods and Bandclassrooms. Upon exiting the school, Ericasaidthat she and other students ran northward, past the tennis
courts, to the fence line that separates the school grounds from Clement Park. Erica said that she remembers her teacher.
Barbara Hirakawa, and other staff members repeatedly telling them to continueover the fence and intoClement Park. Erica
said that several studentspushed picnic tables to the fence and overturned trash cans to betterenablestudents to get overthe
fence. Ericasaid that she then climbed the fence and continued runnmg northward into Clement Park.
Ericasaid that she never heard any gunshots or explosions, nor did she see any shooterts), either insideor outside the school.
