This year we used that freedom to add 76 new parts to our catalog while building a whole heap of new bikes. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

Black Ops has taken black finishing to a new level of quality and detail. Black Ops has both textured black and a gloss black finish on one part. Its aggressive, yet subtle.
RSD Contrast Cut product starts with a finely machined, polished and black anodized part which is re-machined to bring out the design highlights. Close attention is paid to machine pattern and quality to ensure the best and cleanest machine work. Taking an idea from an image in your head to a finished product is a long journey, usually starting with a bike build. Two parts of the bike may need to be connected, a section might need to be cleaned up or an area lightened. Sometimes a part just doesnt work as well as it could. We put our collective heads together to come up with ideas to solve the problem. We sketch on napkins, sheet metal or any material within reach. We cut, weld, bend, machine and hammer ideas out of steel, billet aluminum, stainless, rubber and plastic. Once we have a solid representation of an idea we reverse engineer and 3D model the parts on the computer, print final rapid prototypes, test fit and send our designs off to Performance Machine for further analysis, engineering, testing and eventually manufacturing. On bike testing takes place through the entire development process and up until the very end. Every bike we build is ridden hard, like we expect our customers would do.
RSD offers the best chrome in the business by starting off with a hand polished surface preparation followed by layers of high quality, durable chrome. You will not see a shinier chrome.
MANUFACTURING AND TESTING
Our brass parts are simple, raw and golden giving your bike just the right amount of soul. Finely machined brass is left in its natural state and overtime will take on a feel unique to your environment.
Performance Machine produces the highest quality products on the market today from their state-of-the -art manufacturing facility in La Palma, CA. RSD motorcycle accessories are licensed to Performance Machine and they handle the engineering, testing, manufacturing, sales, and warranty (excluding Mustang Seats and Vance and Hines Exhausts). Each RSD product is made from the best certified and documented materials and are meticulously engineered to meet international standards such as JASO and TUV. All products undergo rigorous and intensive testing for strength and longevity at Performance Machines in-house testing facility, never compromising our vision for both function and aesthetics.

Our Aluminum products are first hand polished and then anodized with a UV resistant black anodize that will hold its color and increase durability and prevent oxidation. Our steel parts all receive a high quality surface prep followed by industry leading powder coat finish in either Gloss or Satin Black powder for a smooth flawless finish that protects it from the elements.

If you purchased your RSD air cleaner prior to 2010 and notice any oil dripping from the bottom filter element, this FREE kit cleans up the pesky problem. We have found that some engines make excessive crankcase pressure causing them to spew a bit more oil than others up through the breathers. This retrofit consists of slotted-head breather bolts and injection molded rubber tubes that fit securely into the backing plate of your existing air cleaner. These parts help route any oil coming out of your breathers right back into your engine without spilling a drop.

In the early days HD was making a name for itself on dirtracks worldwide against Triumph, BSA, Indian and countless other brands. When it comes to big twins HD seems to of forgotten how much fun a massive V-twin can be in the dirt. That takes us to our Blackline. First we fully stripped her down and chopped off everything extra. Next was to add back to get her dirtrack ready. 19 RSD Judge wheels are the biggest attitude change along with Goodyears, a new fender and mount, RSD spring seat kit, prototype bars and gauge re-locator, among a host of other little changes and RSD parts. Dirty and narrow minded, just the way we like it.

TWO-PIECE ROTORS
For us, rotor design is more than just mimicking the look of our wheels; it is both science and art. Its taking all that we have learned through the years and improving upon it. We design each rotor from the ground up and analyze every details function along the way. Our two-piece design allows the rotor to expand and contract when heated from the friction caused by the brake pad. The aerated portholes on the stainless steel outer band vent heat and dust away from the disc.

HURLEY SCRAMBLER/CAFE
The Hurley Sportster started as a collaboration with Hurley and RSD to build a surf worthy caf bike. We shot a few pictures of her as a caf racer and somewhere on the way to the beach we decided moto bars, dual purpose tires and a solo seat were a better fit and she was transformed into the Hurley Scrambler. It really goes to show what a versatile bike the sportster is and how easy it is to change a few parts and get something very different.

Chrome:
Wash with mild soap and water, use a healthy coat of Carnuba, apply often with a soft cloth.
Black Anodized:
Wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners that can destroy the black anodized finish. You may use a non-abrasive wax with UV protectant on the black anodized portion of the product to protect it. Never use a harsh or abrasive wax as it will remove the black anodized finish. Avoid exposure to UV rays whenever possible.

Contrast Cut:
See above for Black Anodized portion. For the milled area on standard Contrast Cut wash with mild soap and water, no detergents or harsh chemical cleaners. To remove stains on the milled area you may use the following methods depending upon the condition of the wheel. A mild MAG polish will remove mild stains from the milled area, but will make the milled area shiny as it contains some abrasives. CAUTION: Take extreme care not to use this on the black ano surface of any product as it will remove the black finish. Scotch bright can be used to remove more severe stains on the milled area. CAUTION: Measures should be taken up to and including masking to ensure that the black ano surface of any product is not damaged.

Black-Ops Finish:
Wash with mild soap and water. No detergents or harsh chemical cleaners should be used, as they can destroy the anodized finish. Wax and/or cleaners containing wax are not recommended as they may leave an uneven finish on the matte black surface. Detail spray or WD40 also work well for dry cleaning or wipe-down. Due to semi-rough surface of the Black Ops finish, we recommend using a micro-fiber or other lint free type of cloth so as not leave behind any remnants of the cloth.

Roland Sands Design product is licensed, manufactured, engineered, and sold by Performance Machine, LLC. Thus all orders are subject to the warranty and rules of Performance Machine, LLC as outlined below (Mustang Seats and Vance & Hines Exhaust follow their individual policies):
WARRANTY COVERAGE
If your Performance Machine, LLC product is defective in material or workmanship and you return it to us within one year from the date of purchase, we will replace it or, at our option, repair it at no charge to you. If we repair the defective part, we may use reconditioned replacement parts or materials. If we replace it, we may replace it with a reconditioned one of the same design. which extend beyond those set forth in this document.

Chrome Warranty
Some states do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages or a limitation of the duration of implied warranties so some of the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.
Two Year Unconditional Warranty The chrome finish on your Performance Machine product is of the highest quality, but to ensure its longevity it must be maintained properly. Salt, sand, and humidity are bad for chrome. If you ride the motorcycle in these conditions and do not clean and dry the chrome parts, the life of the chrome will be shortened. Do not use any abrasive cleaners or waxes. Performance Machine reserves the right to determine if the product has been maintained properly and has not been abused. If your Performance Machine, Inc. chrome product has been maintained properly and has not been abused, you may return it to Performance Machine within two years of the invoice date and if upon inspection it is found to be defective, we will replace it, or at our option repair it.
TERMS
Deposit required on all retail orders. Deposit must be money order or certified check; personal checks will be held for 2 weeks to clear. Orders must be paid in full before shipment. There will be no dealer discounts except to legitimate motorcycle businesses.

Performance Machine accepts MasterCard and VISA as a deposit or for payment in full on orders in the United States. Credit card orders can only be shipped to the verifiable billing name and address of the card. Balance of order must be paid in full before shipment. We do not accept Credit Card payments for any orders shipped out of the United States (except Canada and Puerto Rico).

HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE
Contact Performance Machine at (714) 523-3000 to obtain authorization to return the part. Send parts to us at the address below, together with a letter describing the problem. Performance Machine recommends that you contact a local dealer for parts; Contact Performance Machine for a list of dealers in your country. All foreign shipments must be paid in full including freight. Performance Machine does not accept Credit Cards for payment of foreign orders. Contact Performance Machine for acceptable method of payment. PM will not be responsible for customs duties or charges when importing parts into other countries. All APO shipments must be paid in full including shipping via U.S. Mail. For APO shipments only - write or call Performance Machine, LLC for estimate of shipping costs.
RETURNS
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
This warranty does not cover any damage to the product caused by accident, misuse, failure to follow installation and operation instructions, misapplication, alteration or attempted unauthorized repair service by anyone other than us. This warranty does not cover wheels used on the street or highway that are designated in our catalog for racing purposes only. In addition, due to the unusual stresses placed on all parts used on the race track, Performance Machine, Inc. will warranty at their discretion any parts used for racing purposes.
Product purchased through Drag Specialties is subject to the terms of the Performance Machine warranty and as such we will repair or replace product deemed to fall within the warranty terms. Performance Machine does not issue credits or refunds on product purchased directly from Drag Specialties. For product purchased from Performance Machine no returns will be accepted without prior authorization by calling or writing Performance Machine, LLC to request an RMA number. Parts will only be considered for return if the request is made within 30 days from the date of invoice. A handling fee will be charged to restock parts unless otherwise specified. Performance Machine, Inc. reserves the right to refuse to issue an RMA at our discretion. Please note: all parts returned must be packaged correctly; the customer will be responsible for merchandise damaged in shipping due to inadequate packaging. performance machine will not be responsible for return freight on overseas orders.
LIMITATIONS OF WARRANTY
Repair or replacement of the product by us is your sole and exclusive remedy. Implied warranties, including those of fitness for a particular purpose and merchantability, are limited in duration to the one (1) year term of this express warranty. We will not be responsible for incidental or consequential damages. There are no express warranties
