14-15 year-olds can work 16 hours a week
Up to 3 hours on a school day Up to 40 hours a week when school is not in session Some exceptions if you are in a work program

16-17 years and above can work 20 hours


40 hours during non-school weeks Some jobs are defined as hazardous like construction jobs; teens cant do these

How much can teens make?


Washington States minimum wage is $9.19 14 and 15 year olds can be paid 85% of minimum wage or $7.81 If you are younger than 20 your employer may pay you as little as $4.25 for the first 90 days
If you change jobs, your new employer can pay you this youth minimum wage again for 90 days

9. Find someone with another career you are interested in and gather information about it
If you cannot find someone with a career youre interested in, go ahead and research another occupation in Naviance. Do a search in O*Net to find out about the education you need for your career choices
