League Rules 1. Basic Basketball Rules will govern all games. 2.

Any player charged with the use of alcohol while on University property, will be indefinitely suspended without appeal. 3. Any player deemed to be under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to play. Any player found to be in violation of this rule a second time during the game will be suspended for the duration of the game. 4. Fighting or Abuse of league officials or other league members- of any kind will result in the immediate suspension of all league privileges . This includes; expulsion from the league. Fighting is defined as "a punch thrown" or an attempt to do such. The player will be suspended or will be out of the game. 5. Accumulated game ejections- if a player accumulates two (2) technical ejections from one game, he will be suspended from the next quarter. 6. Teams may designate one non-playing member as a permanent coach. This person must be recognized by the league as a "coach" and is responsible for behaving as a "coach. 8. All league games will start as scheduled. There will be a ten-minute "grace" default time. Less than 3 players dressed and prepared to start a game will result in default of the game. Any team not ready to play at the scheduled time, but ready before the default time will be assessed a technical foul (two shots). After the technical has been shot, the game will be started with possession at half court by the team not assessed the technical foul. All defaulted games will result in the loss of 2 points from the defaulting team(s) league standings total. Any team that defaults two games in a season will forfeit the remainder of their season. 9. Games will consist of two 15-minute "stop time" halves. If the game is tied in score at the end of regulation time, a 2-minute stop time Overtime period will be played. If still tied then one point will be awarded to each team. During playoffs overtime will be played until a winner is declared. Each overtime period will be 5 minutes in length. No timeouts are allowed during overtime. 10. Each team is allowed 2 timeouts per half; unused timeouts may not be carried over to the next half. During playoffs this rule is in effect except during overtime, when unused timeouts from the proceeding period may be carried over into overtime. 11. Team foul bonus rules are: 1) on the 7th team foul one penalty shot plus a bonus will be awarded. 2) on the 10th team foul, two penalty shots will be awarded. 12. Both feet must be outside the blue three-point line to register a three-point basket. 13. All technical fouls constitute 2 penalty shots. All technical fouls are counted as personal fouls. Bench fouls will be assessed to the team captain as a personal foul (if the official did not assess the technical to a specific player on the bench).
