What fishing venue have you spent the most time at in your angling career? The Trent, a river thats had many incarnations over the years. Whats your most memorable catch? Probably a huge sturgeon we caught on the Fraser River, even though it was foul-hooked! Is there anywhere you have always wanted to fish, but havent? I really want to have a crack at the Amazon.
What made you turn from being a successful match angler to being more of an all-rounder? I was an all-rounder before I was a match angler. Where did you make your name as an angler? Colin Dyson, editor of Coarse Angler magazine, asked me to write a column about club match fishing. At that time the two people who were writing about match fishing were Kevin Ashurst and Ian Heaps. Well, I thought, how can I write in that magazine and be taken seriously? So I turned him down and a year later he came back and said:
