There are many things you can do—

 Help kids register for the reading program


 Be a reading program recordkeeper
 Help with the preschool programs on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings
 Help with the school-age programs on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons
 Usher for special programs
 Read stories to a group of children
 Help organize and publicize teen events
 Do special projects with the staff

Why volunteer?
You might become a little kid’s hero
You can list this on a job or scholarship application
You get to choose a book for the library to add to its collection
It’s nice to feel needed – AND WE NEED YOU!!

contact you to set up your personalized summer schedule. Be ready to attend a REQUIRED orientation
meeting on Monday afternoon, June 1, 4:00 PM, OR Tuesday evening, June 2, 6:30 PM. Questions? Call

BARABOO PUBLIC LIBRARY/CITY OF BARABOO VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:


A volunteer is a person who performs tasks for the Baraboo Public Library without wages, benefits, or compensation (including travel expenses) of any kind. Volunteers are
recognized by the public as representatives of the library and shall be guided by the same work and behavior codes as employees. They work with the status of “at-will”
employees. Volunteers may nor may not be members of the Friends of the Baraboo Public Library. The City of Baraboo does not provide workers compensation coverage for
volunteers. The city requires negligence on the City’s part for volunteers to collect on the City’s self-insured liability overage. Only the volunteer’s own auto coverage will cover
auto claims. Volunteers who work on a regular basis for the Baraboo Public Library will fill out a volunteer application form, which will be kept on file at the Library. Minor
children may only work as volunteers with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian.
