What is PCAP?
Pima Community Access Program, also known as PCAP, is a not-for-profit organization that provides access to professional health care at discounted prices the uninsured can afford.

Is Pima Community Access Program (PCAP) Health Insurance?


PCAP is not health insurance and does not provide insurance coverage.

Does PCAP cost anything?


$40 yearly membership fee per person (due upon enrollment-cash or money orders only) No monthly premium Affordable co-payments payable at time of services

Who provides these medical services?


Participating hospitals, physicians/providers, and primary care clinics have all dedicated themselves to providing affordable, comprehensive and coordinated health care for uninsured residents of Pima County.

How can I apply?


Apply at a Community Health Center of your choice. Please refer to the back of the brochure. Eligibility
My employer offers health insurance: can I still participate in PCAP?
Employers cannot subsidize any portion of your health insurance costs in order for you to participate in the program. However if you have a probationary/waiting period and meet our requirements, you are eligible for PCAP during that period.

Is there a limit on the amount of household income I may have to be eligible for PCAP?
The level of income a household can have is based upon the number of members in the family. Please refer to the enclosed income chart.

What documentation do I need to participate in PCAP?


Proof of income: employment, pension, unemployment (current & last months) Proof of residency in Pima County

Any other requirements needed to participate in PCAP?


You cannot be eligible/enrolled in AHCCCS, Medicare or other health care insurance. Eligibility for AHCCCS or other government funded health care programs will be determined prior to enrolling in PCAP.

When am I eligible?
Qualified members will be effective immediately upon enrollment.
