You Are Always In My Heart

but His mother kept all these things in her heart (Luke 2:51). Perhaps there is no more powerful bond on the face of the earth than the one that resides in a mothers heart. Now, it may seem inappropriate for a non-mother to speak and assess as if he personally knows the power of a mothers heart. I cannot deny a fair criticism. I am not a mother. I never have been. I never will be. I can only reflect as an observer and a recipient. Every child should know the effect of a mothers love. It might be the look of pride in her eyes as she rejoices in accomplishments of any size by the child she loves. It might be in the care that is given to every scraped knee, bumped head, and bruised ego. It might be in the strong and disciplinary words that affect more than any criticism the world has to offer. There is a place to go, where the door is never locked. There is a comfort zone that is always safe from harm. There is a time of absolute assurance. It is the time and place of a caring mothers heart. You see, no matter how high you climb, or how low you fall, the heart of your loving mother will be within reach. There may be that moment in the life of every child, young or old, when there is no place else to go that can begin to compare to the place held by her heart. Mary was unique. She was the mother of the Lord. She dealt with the special. Still, she was a mother, and in all she saw in Jesus, she saw her son. Before He was born to the end of her life, she had him in her heart.
