Innovative Community Solutions (ICS) is the quintessential organization for the advancement of underprivileged children in the West Virginia,

Virginia and Maryland area. We have a myriad of programs that emphasize the importance of self respect, education, entrepreneurship, unity and wealth. We have a multitude of adults in our programs who have gained invaluable insight on how to become better parents and role models not only for their children, but for all children. We are fervent about our communities and we only wish to help each and every individual in any way possible. We believe in giving back to the community, rather than taking something. John F. Kennedy once said, Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what can you do for your country. JFKs indelible message characterizes our stance on community development and the upliftment of all those in need. We ask the question, What can you do for your country, state and community? There are a plethora of successful solution oriented individuals that can assist us. We need more credible, intelligent and inspiring volunteers to participate in our programs. These children are in dire need of role models and exemplary citizens. Remember when you were a child? Who did you look up to or model yourself after? It may have been a parent or another successful family member. Some of these children lack role models and successful people in their lives. It only takes one person with one profound message to spark the confidence and fortitude in a child. That person--could be you. In the Bible, Hosea 4:6, states that My people perish from a lack of knowledge. People struggle in every aspect of life due to a lack of knowledge. We view ignorance as a detriment to progress. Education and intelligence is vehemently important to have now and in the near future. Our society is rapidly changing, primarily in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. African Americans in these fields are few and far between. African Americans have a rich tradition in creating breakthroughs in each of these fields, but in the last forty years, our presence has dramatically decreased. Think about all of the famous African American

inventors such as, Lewis Latimer, Elijah McCoy, Granville T. Woods, Otis Boykin, Patricia E. Bath and last, but not least, Henry T. Sampson. Henry T. Sampson is responsible for cell phone technology, without him, we wouldnt be able to communicate via cell phones. These great men and women are some of the most prolific and dynamic inventors that have ever lived. We aim to resurrect that creative spirit and ingenuity of African Americans with our programs. This program is strategically designed to encourage students to take an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. African Americans have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but the number of successful African American businesses have fluctuated in the last fifty years. We have a program specifically designed to augment black business ownership and self-sufficiency. We encourage each participant to find what they love to do and make it a business. You will never work a day in your life, if your passion is your career. We carefully guide each participant in our program on the many perks of owning a business. We teach children and their parents the value of running your own business and how that can help the community they reside in. Becoming a volunteer with our organization can embellish your resume and potentially your career. Employers are always seeking individuals with great character and leadership abilities. Think about how you will feel to know that you made a positive impact on someone? When you help someone, you essentially help yourself. Participating in our programs can only benefit you as a person. You can learn a great deal about yourself and what your strengths and weaknesses are. Joining our organization is the opportunity of a lifetime to diversify your resume and to gain uncanny experience that can last for a lifetime.
