On all R 700 presses from Series 701 to Series 710 an additional stop (screw M5 x 30) has to be installed at the switch protecting against sheets running back into the machine. The stop prevents damage to the switch. A 5,5 mm dia. hole needs to be drilled in the bracket. Temperature control devices with unit numbers above No. 2891 and made by Graph0 Metronic and are provided with a 4 bar spill valve. The pressure must not exceed 4 bar, otherwise leaks may occur on the ink unit temperature control. This device permits the limitation of the pressure generated. The pressure is factory-adjusted by Graph0 Metronic to 4 bar. Ink unit temperature controls by Technotrans are factory-equipped with an adjustable bypass. According to the operating instructions, the pressure has to be set to 1,5 to 2,5 bar. IMPORTANT: Whenever such devices are installed, the settings resp. the values must not be modified, since higher pressure may jeopardize the tightness of the system.

The anticorrosive agent P-3 Ferrofos 8576 mentioned in info 6/85 must no longer be used. As of now, the anticorrosive agent Novamet is to be used exclusively (Roland order no.: 094 S 0418 40). Beginning with series 634/840, the new anticorrosive equipped with inking unit temperature control. agent is shipped with presses

For refilling with water - if an inking unit temperature control needs to be cleaned and flushed - only the anticorrosive agent Novamet must be added! IMPORTANT: When flushing, the water must be collected, disposal must be in accordance with the regulations for sewage! The mixture to be filled into the water tank must correspond to the directions of the manufactorer. Approx. 2 - 6 % of anticorrosive agent per 100 1 water. ATTENTION: For each 5 metres of piping (supply and return in a common rectangular jacket), 0,25 litres have to be added to above quantities (supply and return pipe 1 l/2"). FWa/HKoe

Important note! The minimum distance of the cover flap at its highest point to the approximity switch should be 0.2 mm. Otherwise extract holder and approximity switches and after releasing the holding bolts move according to need. See that the cover flap is in parallel position in relation to the approximity switch (adjustable only via supporting axes of the switch). Both mentioned settings affect switch hystereses significantly.

Note: We recommend to reduce the S814 dimension to two mm if you regularly print on very thin substrate.

is important to install the return hoses from the water fountain to the header in the proper manner. Improperly laid hoses may cause the fountain to overflow. The return hoses must be installed so that neither kinks nor air pockets can result, otherwise there is no reliable free return flow, The return hoses must be shortened in such a manner, that the flow of the damping medium to the header is - as closley as possibe - vertical. The connecting sleeves or the return header must be set at an angle of 5" off the vertical (refer to Fig.).

The suction makes the sheet attach to the suction tapes which transport it to the register mechanism. The suction tape feed table consists of two suction chambers in sequence. The suction in both chambers is adjusted to suit the printing substrate. The sucking power of the blower (2) for the first chamber, which is adjacent to the feeder, is regulated by means of the adjusting knob (l), which is provided with an indicator dial. The sucking power can be regulated from 0 - 10, depending on the running behaviour of the substrate, Turning the knob clockwise, the sucking power increases with dial numbers in ascending progression.

Vortex blower

closes at speeds > 8000 s/h

The sucking power of the vortex blower (4) for the second chamber, which is adjaceni to the register mechanism, is adjusted by means of the adjusting knob (3), which is also provided with a dial. The sucking power in this chamber can be read on the pressure gauge (5). The setting must be such, that the suction provided is just sufficent to transport the sheet - without buckling - to the register mechanism,
