Reelected solons thank supporters; vow to pursue President Aquino's legislative agenda
Reelected lawmakers today thanked their supporters for their recent poll victory, as they vowed to pursue in the 16th Congress the good governance and pro-people agenda of President Aquino on their third and last term as members of the House of Representatives. Rep. Isidro Ungab (3rd District, Davao City), who ran unopposed, said his reelection was an acknowledgement of his contribution to the welfare of his constituents. I would like to thank my constituents in the Third District of Davao City for their overwhelming support and confidence. Running unopposed on my third and last term is a product of six years of unyielding passion and commitment to development. I would also like to thank the Lord Almighty for this opportunity to serve my country and my people, said Ungab, Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means during the 15th Congress. For the 16th Congress, he said he would continue what he has started in his district that will greatly benefit his constituents namely public infrastructures, livelihood projects, medical and scholarship programs and barangay electrification. My legislative agenda is to pursue legislation that will further the cause of good governance as initiated by President Aquino as well as inclusive growth of our national economy. I will pursue economic programs that will cause trickledown effect of the country's economic gains on the grassroots, said Ungab. Rep. Carlos Padilla (Lone District, Nueva Vizcaya) thanked his supporters and everyone else who helped in his campaign and ultimate election victory. My reelection is a reflection of the great trust and confidence of my constituents in me, and their appreciation of what Ive positively done for them through various pro-poor and pro-people programs and projects, said Padilla. I will work harder as it would be my last term. We will support vigorously the legislative priorities of President Aquino, said Padilla, former House Minority Leader. Rep. Magtanggol Gunigundo (2nd District, Valenzuela City), a Deputy Majority Leader, thanked everyone who helped in his poll victory. I want to thank God, my loved ones, and my supporters for this sweet victory. Secondly, I salute the people of my district for their intelligence and steadfast support. The election results show how much my constituents value the program and projects we have delivered through my years of public service and the laws we crafted to move people up from their miseries.
