GK alum Neil Stanglein has been
selected by Lambda Chi nationals
to serve as a master steward, an
educational role that will charge
him with developing and promoting
programming in the fraternitys True
Brother initiative.
According to nationals, The
primary purpose of a Master Steward
is to support Lambda Chi Alpha
through involvement with the TRUE
Brother Initiative and Lambda Chi
Alphas educational curriculum.
The focus of this position is
the endorsement, stewardship,
advancement, and support Lambda
Chi Alpha as the co-curricular leader
in the Greek movement through the
education and development of our
undergraduate brothers and alumni
volunteers.
As a Master Steward, Neil will be
facilitating at the Stead Leadership
Seminar in Memphis in July.
He serves on the alumni advisory
board at the Alpha-Chi Zeta chapter
at the University of Richmond and is
a past advisor, housing corp member
and alumni association offcer for
Gamma-Kappa (and a Founding
Father from rechartering). He
graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor
of Journalism and in 2009 with a
Master of Education.
Neil is Coordinator for Fraternity
and Sorority Life at Virginia
Commonwealth University in
Richmond, Va. He also volunteers
for Delta Zeta Sorority, Sigma Kappa
Sorority and Sigma Phi Epsilon
Fraternity. He serves as a member
of the Association of Fraternal
Leadership and Values Connections
magazine editorial board as an
Assessment and Awards Judge. He
has developed a curriculum for and
lead the James Madison University
Greek Leaders Institute and has
led programs at Central Michigan
University, Lehigh University,
Roanoke College, St. Francis
University, Tidewater Community
College and University of Alabama-
Birmingham.
GK alum to be installed as LXA Master Steward
Brother Joe Ebeling grew up in
Chesterfeld, Mo. He later moved to
OFallon, Mo. and graduated from
Ft. Zumwalt South.
Joe says he joined
Lambda Chi because
his sister was dating
a member of the
chapter, and he was
shown the house
and loved it.
About his associate
member semester,
Joe says he most remembers the hard
work he and his fellow AMs put into
Homecoming, including house decs.
House decs epitomized our
class, he says.
So far at Mizzou, he says his
most memorable moment is the
Homecoming football game his
freshman year when the football
team beat Oklahoma and the
celebration afterward.
Joe currently serves as the chapters
High Phi (ritualist) and on the
executive committee for the Student
Health Advisory Council. He will
graduate in May 2014 with a pre-med
degree in biology. He wants to go to
medical school after he graduates.
Joes favorite baseball team is the
St. Louis Cardinals.
I get unhealthily angry when the
Cardinals lose in the playoffs, he says.
Featured Undergrad:
Joe Ebeling
Brother Michael Moorefeld
grew up in St. Charles, Missouri
and went to Francis Howell High
School.
He says he joined Lambda Chi
be cause both of his parents were
Greek so he knew he wanted to join
a chapter.
I was rushing a few different
houses but after having lunch
with the Recruitment Chair, Evan
Ericson, and Billy Eckelkamp,
I knew I wanted to join. They
described the membership
correctly as a bunch of guys
who had good grades, were good
athletes, were serious about having
careers, but always wanted to have
fun. That is what I was looking
for.
Evan was also his big brother.
Anyone who knows Evan knows
I got really lucky to have him bring
me into the house and also be my
big brother, Mike says.
When asked what he most
remembers about your associate
member class, he says, Initiation
week. Enough said.
He says his most memorable
moments at Mizzou are Frozen
Luau 2004 (the frst year we had it)
and being elected chapter president.
Mike served as High Delta
(recruitment chairman) in 2004 and
High Alpha (president) in 2005.
On campus, he served as the Greek
Life Judicial Board Chairman in
2006.
Mike graduated in 2007 with a
degree in journalism. He graduated
law school and business school in
2011. He lives in Columbia and
works for Polsinelli Shughart, a
national law frm, in the Jefferson
City offce in the Public Policy
group.
I married my best friend
Mackenzie this past June. We have
two dogs, Abbey and Sarge, he
says. Mackenzie works for Mizzou
in Human Resources and is also
pursuing her MBA. Abbey and
Sarge do their best to do as little as
possible.
Featured Alumnus: Michael Moorefeld
In Mikes words...
I dont throw around this
word a lot but I was truly
blessed to be a part of the
house. The best man in
my wedding, Matt Lumpkin,
and two groomsmen,
Kolby and Kogan Lee, are
fraternity brothers. One of
our ushers, John Minton,
is as well. When you get
married you want to make
sure you surround yourself
with the people that matter
to you most. I was blessed
to be able to do that with
Lambda Chis.
