1)-asymptote An asymptote is a straight line that defines the limits of a curve (such as a hyperbola).

In the picture above, the dashed lines are asymptotes of the hyperbola.
2)- bar graph

A bar graph is a type ofgraph that visually displays information using a series of bars or rectangles.

3)- coordinates

Coordinates are an ordered pair of numbers that show the location of a point on the x-y plane. Every point on the plane can be located by a pair of coordinates (x,y), which notes its distance from the x-axisand the y-axis.

directrix The directrix is a line that helps generate a parabola or hyperbola. For example, a parabola is a set of points (P) such that the distance from the directrix to P is equal to the distance from P to the focus F. ellipse An ellipse looks like a flattened circle. It consists of all the points in a plane that satisfy the following: a+b=(twice the length of the semi-major axis), where a is the distance from one focus to the point on the ellipse, and b is the distance from the other focus to the same point on the ellipse.

(ax + b)( cx + d) FOIL FOIL is an acronym that stands for First, Outer, Inner, Last. It refers to a method of multiplying two binomials, like (ax + b)( cx + d). To multiply, you must multiply each term out, including the first terms (ax times cx), the inner terms (b times cx), the outer terms (ax times d), and the last terms (b times d). For example, (2x + 3)( 4x + 5) = 8x2 + 10x + 12x + 15 = 8x2+ 22x + 15. googolplex A googolplex is the number 10 raised to the googol power: 10(googol) or 10(10100) (1 followed by a googol ofzeros). A googolplex is much larger than the number of atoms in the Universe. Hieroglyphics The ancient Egyptians wrote using hieroglyphics. illusion An illusion is something that tricks your eyes.

kite A kite is a four-sided figure (a quadrilateral) in which exactly two pairs of adjacent sides have the same length. logic Logic is the study of reasoning andproof. modular arithmetic Modular arithmetic is arithmetic done with a limited set of numbers. For example, clock arithmetic is an example of modular arithmetic; when adding hours, 11+2=1 (and not 13).

null set

The null set is the empty set, a set with no members. ounce An ounce is a unit of measure. Eight ounces are one cup. prism A prism is a solid figure that has two parallel and congruent bases, and its faces are rectangles or parallelograms. quart A quart is one-fourth of a gallon. Four quarts make one gallon.

rhomboid A rhomboid is a parallelogramwith oblique angles and adjacent sides have different length. skew Two lines are skew if they do not lie on the sameplane and are not parallel. Skew lines do not everintersect. torus A torus is a doughnut-shaped solid object. unit fraction A unit fraction is a fraction that has a one in the numerator, like 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, etc

Venn diagram A Venn diagram is a diagram that uses overlapping circles to show relationships among sets of things. wavelength
A wavelength is the distance between two wave crests.

x-axis The x-axis is usually the horizontal axis.

yardstick A yardstick is three feet long (a yard); it is used for measuring things. zigzag A zigzag is a line that sharply turns back and forth. addend The addend is one of the numbers that is being added in order to find a sum.

2x + 3y
binomial A binomial is apolynomial expression that has two terms, like 3x2 + 4yz. collinear Points that are collinear are on the same line.

dominoes Dominoes is a game played with tiles that have dots on them. enneadecagon An enneadecagon is a nineteen-sidedpolygon.
