Introduction: As food with essential nutrients, exercise and sleep are needed for healthy life. Savings and investments are also necessary for unexpected future. Saving means we sacrifice -----Reason for Saving: 1. To meet unexpected future needs. Funds are necessary in order to meet the consequences in future I like accidents, house renewvation---, marriages etc. 2. Saving are critical for comfortable retirement. Savings are source of funds after retirement so that an individual cancontinue adecent and reasonable life style. Even you stops earnings after retirement. 3. Satisfaction of specific goal. Any individual saves for special purposes like education of children marriage, house,, construction, holiday by saving we can satisfy our specific goals. 4. Helps in devel0opment of Countrys Economy Saving Plans important role individual as well as nations economy, because when we saves we increase national income and thereby development of economy. 5. Today spectrum of investment is indeed wide. An investment is confronted with basket of in avenues like bank deposits, real estate, small savings life insurance scheme, billions, commercially papers, corporate security bonds, mutual funds and equity preferred--- share. For economic development it is necessary to invest all saving in a meaningful way. How much money is invested by people out of total savings, frequency of their investment among all investment in bank deposits are safest and most preferred by the household and in equity proportionately are most profitable. Parallely Govt. securities is also safe but earning on is comparatively low. Importance of Investment: When we talk about investment, we refer to the gathering of some kind of asset in hopes of receiving future revenue from it. Two main motives of investment. 1. Financial independence First and foremost things is an investment gives you financial freedom. If you invest your money from beginning you need not worry about future financial needs. As future is uncertain, and there may be a situation in your life where you require a large amount of money to get out of the situation with minimal loss.

In the present generation it is of utmost importance to be rich as it gives more benefits in each and every aspect of your life. So investment increase your returns and at the same time makes you wealthy.

Why Working Women? Women constitute above half of the world population their contribution to the worlds work is about 55% including their unpaid economic activities. Hence there is every reason that women should plan an equal role in economic decision making. Women has shown her intelligence and capabilities in every field. By nature women is identified as better saver. The decision making process by women for investment purpose, gains its importance. Working Women as Teacher: Teaching is the one of the most popular profession across the globe. Teachers are an important force in our society. Teaching profession is accepted by all of Indian states even including small villages by this profession working can earn good returns as well she can look at her family issues. Now a days, Teachers and Professors of schools, colleges earning handsome salaries as well they can give the time to her family and share the responsibilities with her husband.

So attitude of working women teacher towards consumption, savings and investment would reflect their economic behaviour, which would influence their profession an education system as well as quality of life. Why Working Women Teachers in Pune Region ? From past few decades Pune City is known as educational hub. A large number of educational institutions was set up in Pune City. It has more than 100 educational institutes and more than nine universities like - Bharatee Vidyapeeth, Pune University Symbiosis International Institutes and large number schools also. Now-a-days Pune has also become a IT and Automobile hub so many professional. It Institutes along with many management, institutes and B Schools established in Pune City as well as around 10 kilometer away from city. Therefore there is ample scope for research study of Investment Pattern and Savings habits of working women teachers in Pune region.

Hypothesis: 1. H0 : Individual characteristics of few working women teachers such as gender marital status and standard of living on--- determines their investment decision. H1 : Individual characteristics of working women teachers such as gender marital status and standard of living does not determine their investment decision.

H0 : There is significant relationship between annual income and saving investment decisions. H1 : There is no significant relationship between annual income and investment decision.

H0 : Most preferred avenues of investment by working women teachers are bank deposit, and gold and mutual funds. H1 : There is no significant preferred given to any avenue by working women teachers.

H0 : There is significant relationship between in annual income and expected rate of return of women teachers. H1 : There is no significant relationship between annual income and expected rate of returns of women teachers.

H0 : The purpose of investment of all women teachers is for children education and career, marriage and financial security after retirement. H1 : -----------------------

Research Design: Research Design is the logical and systematic planning and directing a piece of research. Researcher studies the relationship between the variables which he has identified. For that he will use appropriate research design for given study. Defining Universe:

Universe or census defining is very important task in research study. The universe or census for this study is all working women teachers of school, college and professional, educational institutions, in Pune Region. There are more than 2000 schools, colleges and professional institutions we are taking only 10% of them and data will be collected from working women teachers. From selected colleges, schools and educational institute. Sampelling Technique: Income, investment savings are personal and confidential information and everyone may not willing to give such information though it is required for study purpose. To avoid negative responses researcher will adopt judgemental sampelling. Data Collection: Data is raw information. It plural of word Datum that means to give Data gives information related to our study. Data can be in any form like images, words, facts, figures, letters, numbers, data cannot be taken as it is information it should be analyse interpret in form which is required by researcher, data collection is very important part of research study if it is not correct, reliable one cannot obtain valid and useful result from the enquiry.
