What kind of policies are available online? If any person suffering from any disease can buy insurance online? How much health insurance does one need? What is TPA? What is cashless facility? 1. What kind of policies are available online? Individual as well as Parivar Mediclaim policies are available online. The Individual Mediclaim policies are available upto 45 years of age and upto Rs 5 lac Sum Insured. 2. If any person suffering from any disease can buy insurance online? Yes , the medical certificate is to be uploaded online facility and the policy can be purchased. In such cases any symptoms or the treatment related to such a disease is excluded from the scope of insurance. 3. How much health insurance does one need? You can decide on the amount based on the number of family members to be covered under the policy, the age of family members, the expected costs of treatment and the amount of premium you are willing to pay. The Maximum coverage available online is Rs 5 lacs. The family members Sum insured can be either equal or lower than the SI of the proposer. 4. What is TPA? TPAs are Third Party Administrators .They are Service providers of Insurance Company responsible for coordinating all aspects of claims. They provide cashless facility to the client undergoing treatment during Hospitalisation. 5. What is cashless facility? Cashless facility lets you avail the hospitalization benefits without any advance payments. Once insured, you will be provided with a 'Health Card' along with Policy documents. You can use the health card to access Cashless facility in our network of hospitals facilitated by our TPA (Third Party Administrators). You need not go through the hassles of paying first and then submitting your claim. 6. Are there any taxation benefits if one takes health insurance policy? The premium paid on a health insurance policy is eligible for deduction under section 80D of the Income Tax Act. The amount of deduction available is up to Rs.15000 for individuals or Rs.20000 for senior citizens aged above 65 years and paid the premium from their account. Additionally an amount of 20,000 is also available for

exemption towards premium paid for dependant parents. 7. Can the nominee be changed mid-term of the policy? You can change the nominee for your health insurance policy at any time during the policy term. To change the nominee, all you need to do is write and give your changed nominee details to the company. 8. What is the age limit for Mediclaim Policy? The insurance is available to persons between age of 5 and 80 years. Children between the age of 3 months and 5 years can be covered provided one or both parents are covered concurrently. 9. What happens if the illness/disease/injury is of such a nature that it is covered under Domiciliary Hospitalisation but requires employing of a qualified nurse to attend to the patient? Domiciliary Hospitalisation benefits cover the expenses on employment of qualified nurses, who are employed on the recommendation of the attending Medical Practitioner and who holds a certificate of a recognized Nursing Council. 10.What happens when I have to undergo a treatment like dialysis when I am discharged on the same day? When treatment such as Dialysis, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy etc is taken in the Hospital/Nursing Home and the insured person-patient is discharged on the same day, the treatment will be considered to be taken under Hospitalisation Benefit Scheme. 11.How do you define continuous treatment? A treatment will be deemed to be continuous if the concerned illness relapses within 45 days from the date of last consultation with the doctor/hospital/nursing home. Any occurrence after a lapse of 45 days will be considered as new illness.
