April 2013 After is every Christians middle name. In his autobiography A Song of Ascents, missionary E. Stanley Jones tells of an African man who changed his name to After immediately following his conversion. Because all things were new and dierent and important after he met Christ, the man wanted to reflect that new reality in his name as well as in his thinking. Easter is what makes us After Christians. After Easter, nothing in life is ever the same again. the newsletter of Jarrettown United Methodist Church 1460 Limekiln Pike Dresher PA 19025-1116 (215) 646-4129 FAX (215) 646-6912 www.jarrettownchurch.org Email: jarrettownumc@comcast.net 8:00 am: Traditional Service 9:15 am: Contemporary Service 11:00 am: Traditional Service

Focus on Missions
Our January donations to St. Philips totaled 146 food items and continued into February with another 98. In addition, 99 items were delivered to Ambler Community Cupboard. The Philabundance troops helped pack 720 Senior Boxes (30 lbs. each) in January and 900 pounds of dry cereal (10 pound boxes, each containing 20 halfpound bags) in February. Also in February our Mission of the Month, OHAAT (One House at a Time) collected 7 new pillows, 6 comforters, 17 sets of sheets, 10 pillowcases, 8 blankets and $100.00 in cash donations. Ladies from the UMW met on March 9 in the Friendship Center to put together 10 more No-Sew Blankets for the children. Volunteers will continue to assist in bed deliveries throughout the year just a few hours on a Saturday would be such a blessing to this effort. Aid for Friends is expanding!! In addition to our regular Third Thursday group, Rachel Circle met on March 5 to add another 80 meals to our regular count and they will be meeting on the first Tuesday in every other month to continue to add to the totals. Also the MOPS moms will be meeting to put another 80 meals together and are considering making that effort a permanent contribution to our church missions. Much of the credit goes to Barbara Clymers Memorial gifts which she had designated to go to funding the AFF meals. Thank you, Barbara, and thanks to all who so generously are giving their time and talents to these mission efforts. The Jesus Victory Garden (JVG) is a terrific way for you to have a direct impact on the war against hunger in our own Delaware Valley. We kicked off our efforts in March, but the work will carry on all summer and into the fall as our harvests present themselves. Those harvests will be donated to Philabundance and to local food pantries. By committing to tend one of the beds in the JVG or being a substitute gardener, harvester, weigher and packer or helping with delivery, YOU can be an instrument of Gods mercy to those who are so much in need of food. You can offer your help to Pastor Walt or Connie Damon and theyll gladly accept!! Aprils Mission of the Month will again be our Annual Flower Sale to benefit Carson-Simpson Farm Summer Camp and well want to sponsor week-long camp experiences for inner-city children who would not be able to do so without our help. Look for order forms after Easter.

Bring Students To Christ Disciple Students In Christ GUATEMALA 2013: We still have a few spots left! Our Sr high ministry will be traveling to Guatemala on June 23 29, 2013 for our summer mission trip. We encourage all students in 9th 12th grade to attend this life changing trip! A $300 deposit is due on ASAP for consideration for a spot: we have had a great turnout and there is now a waiting list for a spot. We will be doing fundraising in the spring to significantly lower the cost of the trip. During this trip, we will experience cross-cultural ministry as we do construction projects, work in orphanages, help in food kitchens, as well as worship the Lord. See Nick for more details! We continue to support our Compassion Child Ned. he is now six years old and we have been supporting him for two years. We are also selling ThrIVE t-shirts (see picture). All profits from sales on these shirts will go to support Ned. See Nick to buy one! Blessings! Nick Agazarian Youth Pastor jumcyouth@comcast.net 267-243-5490
