Nineteenth-century evangelist Dwight L. Moody was walking down a New York City street, thinking about a sentence hed heard: The world has yet to see what God can do with a man who is wholly yielded to him. Suddenly Moody felt a great yearning and cried out, O God, make me that man! He was so overwhelmed with Gods love and with heartfelt passion to reach lost people that he had to stop at a friends house to rest. In Birth of the Body, Ray Stedman says this is what Luke is talking about when he describes the events of Pentecost. When John the Baptist predicted that Jesus would come and baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire, he meant that there would be an unexplainable passion about the church. As we feel the Pentecost passion, lets yield ourselves wholly to God and see what he does with us!

Bring Students To Christ Disciple Students In Christ We just held our biggest event of the spring, which was our 2nd Church-Wide Youth Auction on March 15. We raised over $19,000 on the night of the event! Praise the Lord. Many hours went into preparing for this event, and we were extremely blessed by the help of our students, parents and leaders, especially kim kellenbenz and Becky Conrad. We oered a catered meal by Jarrettown Hotel, and our packages included vacation packages, Phillies ticket packages, date nights, student services and much more! I am so very thankful for our church community and friends and family members of those who are participating on our summer mission trips. At this event, our church invested in a vision to help our students serve the Lord and serve others. I am so humbled by your support for our ministry and for our students! Money raised has helped significantly lower the cost of our trip to Guatemala this summer, as well as our Jr High Mission trip. GUATEMALA 2013: Our Sr High ministry will be traveling to Guatemala on June 23 29, 2013 for our summer mission trip. During this trip, we will experience cross-cultural ministry as we do construction projects, work in orphanages, help in food kitchens, as well as worship the Lord. We have 14 students and 8 adult leaders signed up for this trip.
We continue to support our Compassion Child Ned. He is now six years old and we have been supporting him for two years. We are also selling THrIVE t-shirts (see picture). All profits from sales on these shirts will go to support Ned. See Nick to buy one! We have several great events to close out the spring, including our fourth annual THrIVE masters mini-golf event on May 19, as well as our end of the year cookout on June 9. All seniors will be recognized at this event. Also, if you have a graduating senior this year, either high school or college, please send that information to Nick as soon as possible. We will be honoring all of seniors during our Sunday worship services on June 9! We will also be releasing our summer calendar shortly, so be on the lookout for that! Blessings!
