Instructions: Application is to be completed by the applicant. Please type or print clearly. Use extra pages as necessary. Applications must be postmarked by March 30, 2013.
The applicant must meet all of the following requirements. 1. Attend a high school in one of the following counties for the past two years and plan to graduate from that high school in 2013. Eligible Counties: Adams, Athens, Fairfield, Hocking, Meigs, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Vinton or Washington. (Special note: one scholarship will be awarded to an applicant from Perry County). 2. Graduate with a G.P.A. of 2.5 or better, based on a 4.0 scale. 3. Participate in college preparatory courses as offered through high school. 4. Enter the first year of a four-year program at an accredited college or university as a full time student in 2013. 5. Lack full scholarship for tuition, room and board at time of award. 6. Have two recommendation letters, one from each of the following:
Community member (preferably a community organization leader) who is not a teacher or a relative. High school teacher or advisor who is not a relative.
Grade (A,B,C)
The scholarship is a one-time, $1,000 grant payable directly to the college or university the recipient attends. The recipient will be asked to address high school students visiting ME regarding their collegiate experience during National Engineers Week, which takes place in February 2014.
Section 3: Activities
Scholarship applications are available from your high school guidance counselor or by request to ME Companies, Inc. Please send any correspondence to the attention of Human Resources. Applications must be postmarked by March 30, 2013. A scholarship selection committee will review the applications. Notification of scholarship recipients will take place in May 2013. The scholarship money will be sent directly to the college or university that the student will attend, upon the due date of fees for the first term.
