SYSTEM ANALYSIS
System Summary:
Amazing Graphics, Inc. is a small setup in Chicago that creates multimedia-based
graphics for its clients who are mainly content development, eLearning, and organizations that
create software games. Amazing Graphics has 250 people now. William Wilcox is the CEO of
the organization.
The organization has a Human Resources (HR) department, which has about 7 employees
and is headed by Roseanne James. Jennifer Roark heads the Finance division, which has 12
people currently.
Besides, the organization has a small Marketing and Sales division, whose strength is 14
people. This division is responsible for exploring the market and acquiring new contracts and
clients.
The main division of Amazing Graphics, Inc. is Graphics division. It is responsible for
creating graphics. The graphic designers are organized into teams. Each team works on a given
contract and is headed by a team lead. All the team leads in the division are reporting to the head
of the division, Mark Sutherland.
Recently, the organization has opened a small branch office in New Jersey. This branch
was opened to tap into a well-known institute that is famous for its graphics courses. This branch
employs pass-outs from this institute and currently its strength is 10.
The entire setup is networked. The network administration department is responsible for
the smooth operation of the network setup. Currently, there are 10 people in this department.
With the setup of the remote branch in New Jersey, network administration department is
currently busy in implementing the organization intranet.
In addition, the organization also employs 2 database administrators, who are responsible
for marinating the databases that store employee details and client details.

FUNTIONAL VIEW
The functional view describes the capabilities of an IT system. In this case
study, Amazing Graphics system have main servers, including web server, ftp
server, mail server, printer server are located at the head office in Chicago, which
are connected to powerful computers, terminal through LAN or Virtual Private
Network (VPN) (connected to branch office in New Jersey). The Amazing Graphics

PEOPLE VIEW
The people view list the roles and responsibilities of people that make up the
system. In this case study, the role and the responsibilities of the various entities in
the system of Amazing Graphics, Inc. are listed as follows:

 Chief Executive Officer (CEO): William Wilcox – Is responsible for

monitoring the performance, the overall well being, and the expansion of
the business.

 Human Resource Department: It has 7 employees. They work under

HRM, Roseanne James. Their main job is to recruit people. They conduct
the test and arrange interviews for the applicants.

 Human Resource (HR) Manager: Roseanne James looks into the most
important job of hiring the personnel with right profiles and plans the
various welfare schemes, seminars, and trainings for the employees.

 Finance Division: the main job of this division is responsible for all the
financial operations of business, such as payment of salaries to the
employees, deciding the course price, project price.

 Leader of branch office: work under CEO and is responsible for

monitoring the performance at the branch office.

 The Networking Administrator Department: is responsible for the smooth

operation of the network setup.

 Database Administrator: is responsible for marinating the databases that

store employee details and client detail.

 Graphics division: Accept contracts and create graphics which satisfy the
contracts of client.

 The head of graphics division: divide graphics designers into teams,

distribute contracts to teams.

 Team lead: report to the head of Graphics division about processing of

team, is responsible for monitoring the performance of team.

 Graphic designer: A person who draws and designs graphics.

this study case, the Amazing Graphics, Inc. system contains the following
