The Lindsey Sarjeant Group to Headline the Saturday in the Park June Concert Event Hosted by the Downtown Tallahassee Business Association & Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority
Tallahassee, Fla. The Downtown Tallahassee Business Association (DTBA) and the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority (TDIA) will host its third jazz concert in its 2013 Saturday in the Park Concert Series on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EDT in Ponce de Leon Park, Tallahassee. Headlining this months event will be the Lindsey Sarjeant Group. The Saturday in the Park Concert Series is free and open to the public. Lindsey Sarjeant is a Florida A&M University (FAMU) professor of Music, director of Jazz Studies program, as well as director of Jazz Ensemble and music arranger for the famous Marching 100 Band, Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble. Sarjeant is a brilliant jazz pianist, composer, jazz lecturer and historian, adjudicator and jazz keyboard clinician. Tours include Europe with FAMU Jazz Ensemble in Paris, Monteux, Amsterdam and Brienz, as well as touring with Pam Laws in the Soviet Union. Sarjeant will forever be known in history for his work with the world famous McDonalds All-American High School Jazz Band and the famous sound of the Marching 100.
