Calculations The rate of heat addition in the generator and the energy input of the cycle: Q(gen) = h2m2+h3m3h1m1 (1) The rate of heat rejection out of the condenser is given by the following equation: Q(con) = m2(h2h4)(2)

The rate of heat absorption of the evaporator is given by the following equation: Q(evap) = m2(h5h9).(3) The rate of heat rejection of the absorber is given by the following equation: Q(abs) = h5m2+h6m3h7m1.(4) An energy balance on the hot side of the heat exchanger is given by the following equation: Qshxh= m3(h3h10) (5) Similarly an energy balance on the cold side of the heat exchanger is given by the following equation: Qshxc= m1(h1h8)...(6) The overall energy balance on the heat exchanger is satisfied If Qshxh=Qshxc which is valid in this case.
