Description

High-purity polysilicon is the most important raw material for electronics and photoelectric industries, whose total demand
for high-purity polysilicon was 71,000 tons in China in 2008. Of the total demand, polysilicon, with the purity of above
99.9999% (6N) for solar cells, were 39,800 tons, about 56%. In the same year, the global output of high-purity polysilicon
was 52,000 tons, to which seven multinationals, including Hemlock, Wacker and REC, contributed 49,000 tons, while
China's homegrown producers only 1,500 tons.
