1 Gavn Castle
Half a million tulips and royal collections Gavn Castle, one of Denmarks finest Rococo castles, is located on an island of its own surrounded by flower gardens. Originally the site of a pirates castle, Gavn became a convent in 1398. Open-air events are held year-round.

Vintage automobiles and garden mazes A magical and adventurous world of vintage aeroplanes and automobiles, garden mazes and heritage castle chambers. Egeskov Castle is not only one of Denmarks best preserved 16th century moat castles, it is also one of the most whimsical and fun!

3 Valdemar Castle
Thatched cottages and island romance Nestled on an island next to one of Denmarks most picturesque villages with thatched cottages, the 350-year-old Valdemar Castle features a hunting museum, epoch interiors and open-air events. Visitors can reach the island by a vintage ferryboat, MS Helge, from the town of Svendborg.

4 Snderborg Castle
Ring jousting with 500 horsemen Commanding the sea entrance to the city, Snderborg Castle was where King Christian II (1481-1559) was once imprisoned for 17 long years. The castle features a renaissance chapel and hosts an annual ring jousting tournament, one of Denmarks largest such festivals.

5 Rosenholm Castle
Rose gardens and opulent interiors An aristocratic family residence since 1559, Rosenholm Castle welcomes visitors to its estate rose gardens and on guided tours of its original Baroque interiors. The Renaissance castle is also the venue of private functions and conferences.

6 Spttrup Castle
Moat, markets and medicinal herb gardens The 500-year-old medieval castle is today a living museum with events held year-round, including the annual medieval Bishops Market. Primarily built for defence, the castle is surrounded by wetlands and nature and features a medicinal herb garden.
