1) PROJECT UNDER IMPLEMENTATION
A) BRIEF DETAILS

a) Capacity enhancement of kilns i) Preheater Cyclones Modification With latest technology in the precalcination and pyro processing system for 5 stage Separate line precalciner, the maximum Capacity attainable is adjudged for a level of about 2300 TPD Clinker. The concept applied is broadly the Engineering for reducing the pressure drop across the Preheater through modification in the construction of low pressure cyclone for improved efficiency and correspondingly revision in riser ducts both in terms of construction and configuration to achieve the objective and thereafter translate the achieved reduction in pressure drop to increased production level, maintaining the specific power. The methodology does not require additional space as it is confined to modification of existing cyclones, riser ducts & calciner. This project has been implemented & commissioned. ii) Clinker Cooler Modification Clinker cooler will be modified for handling the increased clinker production. Offer from various parties are awaited. iii) Multichannel Burner Existing burners will be replaced with multichannel burners. Order has been placed on M/s Sanghvi Engineering , Hyderabad under ref. of CC/PVR/06/1255 Dtd. 02.05.2006. One burner is expected to be received in Sept2006. After above modifications, the rated capacity of each kiln will be increased to 2300 TPD from the present level.

b) Raw Mill upgradation Kiln feed is prepared in Raw Mills by grinding limestone and additives (Iron ore). There are 4 nos of Raw Mills having conventional turbo separators. To meet the increased demand of kiln feed (as the production capacity of the kilns will be increased) it was decided to increase the production capacity of raw mills by installing dynamic separators replacing existing old generation separators. This will result into increase in production rate of raw mills without change in specific power consumption. This project has been implemented & commissioned. c) Cement Mills upgradation Communition process is broadly defined and universally accepted in two categories :i) ii) Open Circuit Close Circuit

During the year 1975 when the Plant was commissioned, the three Cement Mills initially set up with the Plant were conceived for operation in open circuit. The current proposal is to convert the Cement Mills into Close Circuit for increased rate of production at constant specific power by adding suitable equipments in the existing layout to meet the designed objectives. This entails addition of a dynamic classifier for segregating the product and recirculating the coarse back into the mill through suitable transport and de-dusting system. Order has been placed on M/s LNV Technology Private Limited, Chennai, under reference of CC/PUR/05/1172 Dtd 28/06/2005. The civil work is in progress. Part supply of the equipment has been received.

d) Capacity enhancement of captive TPP To cater the increased power demand, it was decided to increase the capacity of existing TPP by installing a parallel 10 MW TPP adjacent to the existing 15.0 MW TPP. Order for boiler was placed on M/s Cethar Vessel Limited, Tiruclurapalli. Few details of the boiler are as under :a) b) c) d) Evaporation capacity Main Steam pressure at super heater outlet Temperature at super water outlet Drum pressure 47 TPH 64 ATA 510 +5oC 80 ATA Max.

Order for turbine was placed on M/s T.D. Power Corporation Pvt. Ltd. Japan. The new 10 MW TPP has been installed & commissioned in April2006.

STATUS OF VARIOUS CLEARANCES APPLIED FOR

a) State Pollution Control Board i) Applied for grant of consent to Chhattishgarh Environmental Conservation Board vide our letter no. CC/LAB/MCG/1296 dtd 29.07.2005 for capacity expansion from 1.8 MTPA to 2.1 MTPA cement. Preparation of Rapid Environment Assessment Report and Executive Summary are under progress.

ii) Consent for operation of additional 10 MW TPP has been granted by Chhattisgarh Environmental Conservation Board vide their letter no. 1611/TS/CECB/2006 & no. 1613/ TS/CECB/2006 dtd. 28.03.2006. b) Industries Entrepreneurs Memorandum Ministry of Industries, Govt. of India have issued acknowledgement of Industries Entrepreneurs Memorandum No. 3403/ISA/IMS/2005 Dtd 18.07.2005 registering capacity increase from 1.8 MTPA to 2.1 MTPA.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE

CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT OF KILNS a b c d Order has been placed for Multi Channel Burner on M/s Sanghvi Engineering Hyderabad . Work regarding installation of Multi Channel Burner in Kiln No. 2 will be taken up in Nov-Dec2006. Work regarding installation of Multi Channel Burner in Kiln No. 1 will be taken up in Mar2007. Quotations have been called for cooler upgradation.

CEMENT MILLS UPGRADATION a b c d e Order has been placed on M/s LNV Technology for up gradation of Cement Mills No. 1, 2 & 3. Civil work of Cement Mill No. 1, 2 &3 is in progress. Civil work is expected to be completed by Oct2006. Upgradation of Cement Mill No. 3 is expected to be commissioned by Dec2006. Upgradation of Cement Mill No. 1 & 2 is expected to be commissioned by Mar2007.
