a puppy 5 years ago. We had just moved to Bulacan area because of my parents job. I had to leave all my friends, so I was feeling thoroughly upset. Every day I cried and begged my parents to go back to our old town but they did not seem to care. They told me that I would learn how to adapt in this beautiful area and soon I would make lots of friends. However, even in church activities since me and my parents are very religious I didnt manage to have friends. This situation went on for a couple of weeks. Unexpectedly, my parents arrived with a puppy which we named her puchy. It was my first time to have a dog and I am scared but excited to have her included in are family. I treated puchy like a baby. After she drinks some milk, she sleeps in my arms. After that day, I began to look after her, and she was always with me. Thanks to my lovely puppy, lots of people in my area are now friends with me and they visit to our home to play with her. Having friends in a new neighbourhood is priceless! Law School Many students come in the first day of class very early as they are nervous to the lawyers that will be handling them throughout the semester. I personally felt very excited in my first day in law school. I am very thrilled and over whelmed; the tension I felt inside my stomach is really alarming especially when Atty. Mendiola entered the room it was like I was inside the court room and everyone stand before the judge. I did prepare myself for the worst case scenario like I will be called to recite to a question which I was not able to memorize. I think I was really prepared to be embarrassed in front of people whom I have never mingled with. In that very same day, I realized that this is the most challenging challenge I have ever encountered and that I will be exposed to different kinds of people whom I will have a journey with in conquering law school. In law school, the library is the place that you could rest your mind from the very tense recitation from the terror professor. Surviving law school and passing the bar exam is the best victory I will ever have.

A park The park I love to visit is used to be a belt of green right smack in the middle of this two city block long areas. In the 1970s, the south area already had a lagoon surrounded by gardens, a chapel and an aviary. Around this area was a supermarket, Max Fried Chicken, Shakey's Pizza and a museum. A modest-sized building for retail shops and restaurants was built sometime in the early 1980s up to the 1990s. Then through a series of construction booms, the Mall and its peripheral supermarket and restaurants were finally demolished to finally give way to the Mall Complex. The lagoon and the chapel were retained. Pockets of Zen-like gardens and water fountains were built around the complex. The lagoon, winding its way through nooks of the park, has become the focal point of the complex. You can see an extended family of ducks cleaning themselves on a grassy bank while small kids try to feed them with stale bread to the consternation of the parks guards. People stop and take in the beauty of the green bushes, exotic flowers and therapeutic water gardens and installations. Although trampling on the grass is not allowed, there are areas with seats that open up to well-lighted water fountains and greeneries. Feel free to sit and relax. Strolling from one mall to another (there are 5 malls in the complex) is quite relaxing. Although the mall complex caters to the A and B classes, the park itself welcomes people from all walks of life, taking in their fill of this green oasis in the heart of Makatis premiere shopping mall.(Compose your own please! 5 points)

Expository Mouth-watering Carbonara Carbonara is one of the best Italian dishes many people really love to eat. In preparing for the Carbonara sauce the following ingredients must be prepared. These are the one kilo bacon chopped into bits, one kilo sweet ham chopped into small squares, one can of evaporated milk of your choice, one can of nestle all purpose cream, a can of mushroom, cloves of garlic, chopped parsley for garnishing. To start cooking the noodles, preheat the pan with at least six quarts of water with salt for one pound of pasta noodles and then wait until it boils. Persuasive Abortion I was 16 years old when I entered college in the year 2006 taking up Hotel and Restaurant Management to one of the most prestigious school for such field. I was encouraged by my parents to enter the said school as they thought that I can avoid the unwanted sex or early pregnancy that most of the teenagers are experiencing nowadays. All along my parents thought it was an exclusive school but it was that year that it became COED (Co-educational Institution) I met Caesar Ferrer whom I had an affair with. It was really memorable for me as Caesar was my first boyfriend. It was like Caesar and I own the world when were together, we both inspires each other to excel in school activities as well in academics. Until the most tragic obstacle came up, we did not know what to do because my menstruation is delayed. Caesar Ferrer decided alone to abort and kill the child by all means for he considered it as a hindrance in finishing the four years course of Hotel and Restaurant Management. He even bought a bottle containing herbal that would cause bleeding that will eventually leads to abortion from the vendor in quiapo. When Im about to drink the bottle I felt the guilt that Im about to kill my own child through my very own action. Yes, I am not really prepared to be a mother at that moment but I am not also ready to be a killer of my own child in my womb. Nonetheless, since Caesar and I are together he asked me to immediately drink the bottle which would make me bleed. I drink the said bottle and I was crying because I cant accept the fact that Im doing this to my very own child. Eventually, after three days I bleed a lot and my conscience is bothering me so much. If Ill be given a chance to return back time I would make my child live and not be influenced by Caesar. Im about to be a mother but I choose to be influenced by my first boyfriend who cheated on me several times which I will regret for the rest of my life. Abortion Abortion is illegal in the Philippines. According to statistics, in 2005, there were some 400,000 to 500,000 abortions in the Philippines. The World Health Organization estimate puts the figure at nearly 800,000, one of the highest rates of unsafe abortions in Asia. Seventy percent of unwanted pregnancies in the Philippines end in abortion, according to the WHO. Pro-Life Philippines, an anti-abortion group, says that one of four pregnancies in the Philippines end in abortion. According to the Department of Health, nearly 100,000 women who have unsafe abortions every year end up in the hospital. In addition to that there are as many as 17 percent of all unsafe abortions are done on teenage or young mothers, according to the DOH. The national abortion ratio in 2000 was 18, meaning that 18 of every 100 pregnancies (live births and abortions) ended in abortion; the low estimate is 16 and the high estimate is 21. Moreover, about 4 in 5 abortions in the Philippines are for economic reasons, according to a survey by the

University of the Philippines. In many cases, said Jocelyn Pacete, a spokeswoman for Likhaan, a women's health group based in Manila, "the mother can't afford another child, so ends up choosing her five living children over the foetus in her womb." Consequently, in Quiapo, the best-selling abortifacient is Cytotec, a drug for ulcers. Before it was banned largely through the lobbying efforts of Pro-Life Philippines, Cytotec could be bought over the counter for 20 pesos. Not to mention that this day it sells on the black market for 50 to 120 pesos per tablet. Currently, most of the Cytotec now circulating is smuggled in from South Korea and Bangkok. Death Penalty I am anti-death penalty law considering the numerous disadvantages. I was 9 years old when the first lethal injection to Leo Echagaray was happened live on television. Many people from different parts of our country express different emotions. Some express satisfaction to the imposed penalty to echagaray but some feel grievance to the imposed penalty. Being a minor that time without knowledge about the law my tears drop when the lethal injection was injected through his veins which eventually kills the whole body system of echagaray. My family do not have any relation to echagarays family but the fact seeing a person die in the television was so brutal and very unacceptable act for a catholic country. Indeed, in my opinion the life time imprisonment is enough even if the crime is murder, homicide, rape or other heinous crime in our country. The fact being jailed to an enclosed facility for a lifetime is already too much suffering for a person, being unproductive every day, seeing everyday faces of all the criminals is enough. Considering the jail facility in our country most of the time the food that they distribute does not have a full content of body needs and also most of the time they suffer from viral diseases because the place is too much congested to occupy by thousands of criminals. As for my opinion on the matter of death penalty dura lex sed lex meaning the law may be harsh but that is the law. Death penalty Sometime in the year 1999, Leo echagaray was sentenced to suffer death penalty for raping his step-daughter, Baby. According to Republic Act 7659 or the Death Penalty Law, An Act to Impose Death Penalty on Certain Heinous Crimes, Amending for that Purpose the Revised Penal Laws and for Other Purposes, specifically Art. 335, The death penalty shall also be imposed if the crime of rape is committed with any of the following attendant circumstances: first, when the victim is under eighteen (18) years of age and the offender is a parent, ascendant, step-parent, guardian, relative by consanguinity or affinity within the third civil degree, or the common-law spouse of the parent of the victim. Second, x x x Because of the foregoing, Echagaray was found guilty. For death penalty to apply, the offense committed must be a heinous crime which, according to the law, must be grievous, odious and hateful and which, by reason of their inherent or manifest wickedness, viciousness, atrocity and perversity are repugnant and outrageous to the common standards and norms of decency and morality in a just, civilized and ordered society. It is not only the crime of rape that is punishable by death. Other crimes, depending on their attendant circumstances, like treason, qualified piracy, parricide, murder, kidnapping, robbery and arson also carries with it the penalty of death. The following disadvantages of death penalty are as follows. It is not true that when there is fear of death it will prevent one from committing a crime because most crimes are done on the heat of passion, that is when a person cannot think rationally. Similarly, Death penalty failed as prevention. Death is one penalty which makes error irreversible and the chance of error is inescapable when based on human judgment. Contrary to public belief, the death penalty does not act as prevention to crime based on studies and researches conducted. Expert after expert and study after study have emphasized and

emphasized the lack of correlation between the threat of the death penalty and the occurrence of violent crime(Meador 69). Actual statistics about the deterrent value of capital punishment are not available because it is impossible to know who may have been deterred from committing a crime. In addition to that, Death penalty does not discourage crime. Everyday there are many reports of robbery hold-up, murder and kidnapping. It is noted that what we need is an extreme penalty as a deterrent to crime. This could be a strong argument if it could be proved that the death penalty discourages murderers and kidnappers. Indeed, Conviction of the innocent occurs. It is better to free a criminal than kill an innocent man. Conviction of the innocent does occur and thus resulted to miscarriage of judgment and it is irrevocable. Finally, Death penalty violates human dignity/rights. An argument against the death penalty is the basic moral issue of conservation of human rights and humanity. The argument of retribution would be even easier to dismiss if it consisted only of a base thirst for revenge. According to the opponents of the death penalty, it demeans the moral order and execution is not legalized murder nor is imprisonment legalized kidnapping but it is the coldest, most premeditated for of homicide of all. It does something almost worse than lowering the state to the moral level of the criminal: it raises the criminal to moral equality with the social order (Hertzberg, 49). Indeed, one of the ironies of death penalty is that it focuses attention and sympathy on the criminal. Finally, it is necessary to consider both sides of the issues before jumping into conclusion.(5 points)
