My Personal Fitness:
Evaluation
The FitnessGram assesses three parts of physical fitness important to your health:
1. Aerobic capacity,
2. Muscular-strength, -endurance, & -flexibility, and
3. Body composition.
Each score compares to national standards, called Healthy Fitness Zones. These zones indicate healthy levels
of fitness. Zones have been set for boys and girls based on their ages. The use of these zones helps to
emphasize personal fitness for health instead of goals based solely on performance. Since only modest
amounts of exercise are needed for obtaining health benefits, most students who participate in physical activity
almost every day will be able to achieve a score that will place them in a Healthy Fitness Zone.
