AUSL Principal 3400 N. Austin Ave. Chicago, IL 60634 Dear Principal: Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. I have chosen to help start this change one classroom at a time, equipping my students with relevant knowledge and skills needed to improve themselves and others around them. Every day, I work to help young people become team players, critical thinkers, and problem solvers. If I can see increased confidence, hard work, and an improved since of self efficacy from my students, I can know a powerful change is drawing near. Please accept the submission of application for an elementary or middle school teaching position at an AUSL School. From my engineering background, undergraduate degree in middle childhood education, graduate urban education degree, and year-long training at Morton School of Excellence, I am prepared to employ my abilities to teach 2nd 6th grade Mathematics and Science. My resume demonstrates the experiences I have received in the field of science and math as well as in the classroom. These experiences have helped develop me into becoming a teacher capable of designing lessons to build conceptual knowledge, provide hands on experience, increase rigor, address multiple intelligences, and encourage critical thinking and teamwork. The mentor I have been privileged to observe and work with has given me a wealth of knowledge on classroom management, planning, checking for understanding, and schema. Students respond well when they are engaged in the learning and when they can take ownership of their work. I have also learned how important it is to involve parents in the process of their children. When the community and school can work together to push our students, the goal of changing the world through education is much closer to being achieved. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to change the lives of young people through education. I am self-assured I have the ability to educate young people an AUSL school. I thank you for taking the time to review my qualifications. I am available to answer any questions you may have. Sincerely,

Darnell L. Logan
