Part 1: Swindell Quote: Look at the Quote on Attitude in our Lesson 7 notes, on board as well and go in order 1: Dont Over think this! 2: Now Work w/ a 3: Provide a brief reaction to the quote. I would say that the quote would be 3. choice 3. in charge more realistic if it was 20 or 30 % of what happens and 80 or 70% of how you deal with it. Part II: Locus of Control 1: Define Locus of Control. 2: Take this survey (must sign up) and put results here:

3: Define. Internal Locus of Control: someone who believes that he or she can influence events and their outcomes. To Learn what you do and dont control. To focus on and work with what you do control External Locus of Control: someone who blames outside forces for everything.

4: Come up with a real life example and explain how someone with an internal vs. external locus of control would handle it differently. Losing a Job: Internal Locus of Control: this person believe he/she was the reason for losing his/her job and that they need to work harder or change their ways to get another job External Locus of Control: this person believes that they lost their job because of the problems with the country.

Part III: Attitude is the Father of Behavior 1: How does your attitude affect your decisions? Give an example. 2: Highlight or underline which items we have control over in the equation below. 3: Explain how attitude could be viewed as a decision. Use the term control. You choose your attitude. Choice = control

Attitude is the father of Events+ Thoughts=Feelings behavior Your attitude (mindset) determines your actions If you are sad about something it could lead to negative actions.
