Iowa Series of Pong (ISP): Full Rules and Regulations

A. General:
The ISP is a Beer Pong league that spans over a month of regular season games and a week of playoffs
and a championship game
There will be 12 or 16 teams in four different divisions
The rules we’ve came up are fairest and least complicated rules we could think of, so it makes it easier on
everyone
There is a $20 buy in for each person to play, that’s $40 a team (Give money to Andrew, Brice, Darin or
Eric)
The winning prize is $640 if 16 teams sign up and $480 if 12 do

B. Restrictions:
Over the age of 18, unless you ask for permission to play and receive it from Andrew, Brice, Darin or
Eric, also if you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask any of them
Committed to play, The ISP is going to run a month long, just in the regular season, and with the playoffs
and championships a little over a month all together.
You must be able to play 2 league games a week, no more or less

C. League Setup:
Every teams will need to come up with a name, anything goes, so you can be Dick & Jane or Dick
Fucking Jane, we don’t care, just come up with a name
There’s 4 divisions with 4 teams in each division.
You will play the teams in your division twice, one being the home team and one being the away
There’s a total of 8 regular season games, 6 being against your division and 2 being random teams, and
every game will have a home and away team
After the regal season is done, the 4 division leaders will move onto the playoffs along with 4 wildcard
teams
Division leaders are decided by in division play, so the best winning % in a division moves on, in case of
tie, overall record comes into play. If still tie, opponents is taken in
Wildcards are decided by overall record, so the 4 best overall records after the division leaders are also
taken into the playoffs, in case of tie, opponents record comes in again, if still tie, a 2-1 sudden death game
is played between the tied teams

D. Game Setup:
All games must be played with 16oz plastic cups
All games must be played standing 8ft back from the edge of the opponents side of the table, height and
width of the table doesn’t matter
The games starts out with 10 cups in a 4-3-2-1 triangle formation

E. Playing the Game:

The home team of the game can choose whether they get to shoot first or pick what side of the table
they’re on, what ever one they don’t pick the opposing teams then chooses
Every team gets 2 consolidations a game, with straight line being auto
You can consolidate at 3-2-1, diamond and 2-1

F. Redemption:
Redemption will always take place, unless a double-cup (balls get made in the same cup) clears the table,
so if there’s 3 or less cups left on your side and you get double-cupped, game over
When in Redemption players continue to shoot until they miss, or have made all the cups, if they make all
the cups, a 2-1 overtime is played, this continues until there is a winner
If a team is redeeming themselves and clears the remaining cups by double-cupping, they start the
overtime with the balls first
G. Rules:
There’s no elbow rule, but you cannot lean over the table
No role-backs of any kind
No blowing or fingering, when the ball starts spinning in your cup all you can do is watch and pray, if
someone does blow or finger a cup, they take that cup, and if the ball goes in another cup because of the
blow or finger, they also have to take that one too
You cannot intentionally throw a ball to knock over a cup, if someone knocks a cup over this way, the cup
is put back on the table and the person who knocked it off has to refill it
You cannot touch the cups unless your are drinking them, so you cannot hold them down while the other
team is shooting, if you do, you have to take the cup you held
If both players make a cup in the same turn they get balls back
Bounces are 2 cups and they can be swatted
Double-cup is 3 cups and you CAN shoot at the same time as your teammate
On a rare chance that a bounce double-cup occurs it’s 6 cups, a bounce and regular shot double-cup is 4
If a player makes 3 cups in a row, that player is on fire and continues to shoot until they miss
If in one turn a player becomes on fire when his teammate makes their ball also, resulting in balls back, the
player on fire only shoots one ball, not two, and if he makes one he still continues to shoot
You can distract your opponents, but you cannot use any object, i.e. air horns (Wheeler), you also cannot
smack you giant, black, pierced cock against the table (Robby). The only thing that can pass the table edge
is your hands, you can still flash, moon and get your giant cock out, but it has to be behind the table.
If a player interferes with a shot, i.e. the ball hits an opponents hand , they have to drink a cup for it
You can also negotiate for cups, i.e. I’ll take a cup if you show us your tits/dick
If you’re a dipshit and make it in your own cup, tough, you have to drink your shameful mistake
If a person knocks a cup over and beer is spilled out of that cup, that cup is gone

H. Playoffs:
If you forgot how teams were going to be chosen for the playoffs read League Setup again
The playoffs are going to be an 8 team, seeded, best of 3 (all played back-to-back) tournament
The highest seed between the 2 playing teams gets home field advantage
Home field advantage works every other, so the higher seed gets to choose the first game, then their
opponent for the second and so on and so on
The top 4 seeds will be given to the Divisional leaders, with the top seed having the best record and
likewise for the remaining divisional leaders
Wildcards will have the remaining seeds and seeding will be given just like the divisional leaders
The seeding in the playoff bracket will look like this:

I. Championship:
The Championship game will be a best of 5 and the winner takes home the cash, maybe a trophy

J. Absentees
Every team get one game they can use a makeup on in case a member of the team is going to be out of
town
A makeup is where a team either postpones a game till a later date, or they have another person step-in for
the missing member. You only get one of these, and if it occurs a second time (some circumstances will be
considered), either it’s a forfeit or the remaining player plays by himself, only shooting one ball per turn
