LaFargeville Central School 2013 Class Leaders

The LaFargeville Central School would like to congratulate the Class of 2013 academic leaders Valedictorian: Lauren Beeles and Salutatorian: Lauren Labiendo.

Lauren Beeles, daughter of Scott and Sally Beeles, has been named LaFargeville Central School Valedictorian for the Class of 2013 earning a cumulative overall average of 98.03. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Drama Club, Yearbook, Whiz Quiz, and Environmental Science Club. Lauren has also served in a leadership capacity as a student representative on the District Wellness Committee and has held offices of Class Treasurer, Student Council Member, Oxfam Hunger Master of Ceremonies, and Daily Student Announcements Spokesperson. Ms. Beeles has been actively involved in extra-curricular activities as well including: the Lyme Community Theater, Franciscan Mystery Players, LA on Broadway Musical, LCS Drama productions Bye Bye Birdie and Once Upon a Mattress, soccer, basketball, softball, Envirothon, and Horizons III (a Clarkson University summer college preparatory program). Even though she has been extremely busy outside the classroom, Lauren has made academics her priority by taking upper level, honors, and college courses and will graduate having already successfully completed 29 college credits. Lauren has been accepted at Saint Lawrence University, Elmira College, Syracuse University, and Nazareth College. She has decided to attend Nazareth College in the fall and plans to pursue a double major in International Studies and Foreign Language with the desire to work for a non-government international agency.

Lauren Labiendo, daughter of Patrick and Patti Labiendo, has been named Salutatorian for the LaFargeville Central School Class of 2013 earning a cumulative overall average of 96.26. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Student Council, Peer Leadership, Whiz Quiz, Environmental Science Club, and Drama Club. She has utilized our distance learning classroom and EDGE program to earn 26 college credits from Jefferson Community College prior to graduation. Ms. Labiendo has also participated in chorus, Envirothon, basketball, and softball. In her athletic career, she has been named a Frontier League All-Star multiple times and has played travel softball as a member of the Northern Nightmare for the past three years. During her career at LCS, she has held leadership roles as Class President, Class Vice-President, Student Council Secretary, and Captain of various athletics teams. Lauren has been accepted at Saint Lawrence University, Elmira College, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Cortland, SUNY Oswego, and Jefferson Community College. Lauren plans to attend Jefferson Community College next year to pursue a double major in Physical Education and Sports Management. After earning her Associates degree, she plans to enroll in a Bachelors Degree program at a 4-year college to prepare herself for a career as a Physical Education Teacher.
