WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GOD REMEMBERS A PERSON? By Pastor Ayo Oyebanjo BIBLE TEXT: Malachi 3:14-18 KJV Whilst others were complaining of their circumstances,a group of people suddenly came to themselves, those that feared the Lord spoke to themselves and the Lord hearkened. Three things happened 1. They spoke often one to another; 2. The Lord heard and hearkened; 3. A book of remembrance was written for them that feared the Lord and called upon His name. God responded,remembered and offered to spare them. OPENING PRAYER We pray that by reason of what God shall do in remembering you,there shall be a clear difference btw you and others WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR GOD TO REMEMBER SOMEONE? God does not forget. He decides to bring your case to the front burner,He gives you focus & priority attention. "He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?" (Psalms 94:10 KJV) When the people prayed God listened & hearkened (to attend to your case respectfully).You become His priority & focus God hearkened to you means to attract the attention His attention Eg.

"And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb" (Genesis 30:22 KJV) It is not just enough for God to hear you but to hearken to you and remember you WHEN GOD REMEMBERS YOU.... 1.You become a highly prized asset spared from every evil and calamity. God differentiates you from others. He talks about His Jewel. You become a priceless treasure in his esteem and He guards you. 2.He spares you from every evil and calamity. You can be sure you will be differentiated from others.He said "I will spare them" because you are of value. 3.God rembers you for good.. Eg. A remembrance for destruction. "Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt." (1 Samuel 15:2 KJV) No man can remember you if God does not provoke them to so do. Two people remembered in the scripture for good and the story of their lives changedMehishobeth and Mordecai. David suddenly remembered the kindness of Jonathan and asked; "who is there left in the house of Saul that I may shew him kindness for the sake of Jonathan" 2 Samuel 9:1 Mordecai:Esther 3:He leaked info of coup to the King.His courageous act was recorded but forgotten.One day the King became restless,could not sleep and asked for the books.On inquiring if anything had been done to compensate Mordecai,his story was changed. Nehimiah 13:13 prayed "remember me for good" 4.The water assuages (subsides).

And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; (Genesis 8:1 KJV) Water assuages also means water recedes In the Bible,the "Wind" is a type of the Holy Ghost. Challenges of life, like mighty rushing water coming to overtake us,the boats of our lives are about to capsize, He causes the winds to blow and the waters will begin to recede and subside. 5.You are delivered from impending destruction. He sends you out before the destruction will manifest. God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of Sodom "Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou become thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar." (Genesis 19:22 KJV) You will be taken out of any impending destruction. 6. Delays of long standing are terminated as in Rachel and Hannahs case. "And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb."(Genesis 30:22 KJV) Her barrenness was terminated and fruitfulness took over. "And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her." (1 Samuel 1:19 KJV) 7.Circumstances are orchestrated by God to cause man to remember you Eg.Joseph and Jephta "Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him."(Genesis 40:23 KJV) Though gifted ,Jephta was the son of a harlot (Book of Judges).Circumstances forced his brothers to recall him and he was elevated to the Kingship 8.You are brought from obscurity to limelight

Eg.In Esther 6 & 8, Mordecai (a gateman) was elevated and a crown of Gold placed upon his head.He experienced a change of status and became someone of reckoning in the nation. 9.God activates his covenant, remembers His word and fulfills them God remembered the children of Israel in captivity and His covenant with Abraham. "And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;"(Genesis 15:13 KJV) "And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob" (Exodus 2:24 KJV) "And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant."(Exodus 6:5 KJV) Their captivity was overturned and terminated. They entered into liberty and freedom. 10.Reward that is overdue is expedited. Eg.Mordecai and Joseph The King requested that Joseph be brought hastily and elevated him after two years of delayed promise. "Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh." (Genesis 41:14 KJV) 11.Your offerings & sacrifices are remembered causing a release of needed help that is not too late to happen. "Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah". (Psalms 20:3 KJV) Your offerings and sacrifice will speak on your behalf. God will hear, hearken and remember you. 12. You experiences a visitation and God avenging of your persecutors

"O Lord, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke."(Jeremiah 15:15 KJV) Eg.Abraham (Genesis 18)God visited Abraham and Isaac("laughter") was left behind. Every visitation of God always leaves something unusual behind. Solomon experienced God's visitation and was baptized with inimitable measure of wisdom WHAT DO I DO TO EXPERIENCE HIS REMEMBRANCE? 1.Maintain a right attitude and stay connected.Eg.Joseph 2.Walk in His fear continually.Eg.Malachi 3 3.Think upon his name not the challenges or circumstances.His name represents who He is. 4.Don't be quiet,keep speaking right consistently. 5.Surround yourself with the right kind of people. "they that fear the lord often spake one to another" Malachi 3:16 KJV CLOSING PRAYER Father, In this month of remembrance, remember me for good,IJN,Amen
