DROPZONE: LONDON

Welcome to the second official Dropzone Commander Tournament DROPZONE:LONDON! This tournament is to be the basis of future mission and tournament packs from Hawk Wargames, so let us know what you think. Heroes and Legends & Hawk Wargames.

THE TOURNAMENT
You will participate in a series of three games, each against a different opponent. In the first round players will be matched randomly against an opponent. After that, in each round the two players in 1st and 2nd place (based on their points) will play each other, the players in 3rd and 4th place will play each other and so on. The only exception is you will never play the same person twice. Should this happen a referee will step in and sort things out so that the players play fresh opponents of a suitable calibre. This usually means moving either up or down the tables to swap you around. Once your opponent has been determined you will be assigned a table. Each game will be played on a 4 by 4 table. Please try to keep the playing area clear of excess clutter. Each table will be a predesigned battlefield with fixed scenery. You must bring along a copy of the Dropzone Commander rules, including the rules for any experimental units you will be using. You may not use any models you dont have rules for. Setup, game length and victory conditions are described below. Each player has a special results card, once you have finished your game, you must fill in the card and hand it back at the referees desk so the tournament standings can be calculated. As ever, if you have any queries about the event, please feel free to email us at: Support@heroesandlegendsgames.com

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
When you arrive at the tournament you must bring a copy of your army roster, for your opponent to view prior to the game. The roster must include all of the models in your army, their points value, the points value of any upgrades and must specify which models are equipped with these upgrades. Your commanders level must also be indicated on your roster, as well as which unit he is with. This is especially important if your commander is not in a Command unit. Please remember to put your name and player number on all copies of the list. The rosters of the tournament leaders will be scrupulously checked after each round. Any errors will result in the culprit losing points from their Generalship score for every game in which that army has been used, meaning that they will almost certainly have no chance of winning the tournament. Please doublecheck all of your calculations. Make sure that every upgrade shown on the models in your army has been paid for (remember WYSIWYG). If you make a mistake you will lose points, even if the mistake was completely honest.

ARMY LIMITATIONS
No more than 1500 points may be spent on the army. Armies must follow the restrictions on army selection from their faction lists for a standard army roster. This will be a CLASH from the army listings. In addition the following points will apply for this tournament: All experimental units gain a new rule: Experimental unit: 0-1. Only one of this unit type may be taken in an army for any reason. E.G. UCM Praetorian Sniper teams may have 3 or 4 bases in a unit. However there may only ever be one Praetorian sniper squad in an army. The tournament referees decision is final. David Lewis, the creator of Dropzone Commander will be one of the judges, making his the last word on all rules.

SCENERY
Scenery for the battle will have been set up by the tournament referees and should not be moved or changed around unless a referee is present. Table numbers will be assigned, and you may end up playing on the same table more than once.

SET-UP PERIOD
We have included a setup period of 15 minutes to help players get off to a good start, and to help avoid the situations that can lead to rules disputes and bad feeling. Before battle commences you should spend a couple of minutes showing your opponent your army roster. Players are allowed to ask their opponent questions about the army and the rules that apply to the unit and any upgrades it has, as well as experimental rules and their interaction with terrain, units and the game in general. After inspecting the armies, both players should discuss the terrain for the battle, and how each feels it will affect the units in play. Finally, both players MUST shake hands and then battle can commence.

SPEED OF PLAY
We have allotted 2hrs 30mins for each game to be played in. At the end of the time the referees will announce that all dice must stop being rolled. If you are new to the game or using experimental models, please ensure that you set up and play quickly so that your games finish on time, without jeopardising your opponents time. There will be reminders when there is half an hour left of game time and ten minutes left of the game.

MODELLING
We encourage dynamic poses and interesting conversions, however any conversions that substantially alter the way a model plays will be deemed Modelling for advantage and not allowed.

SPOILS OF WAR
OVERALL CHAMPION (0-95 points) The winner of DROPZONE:LONDON will be the player that scores the most points in the categories described below. The points scored in each category will be added together, and the player with the highest total will be the champion. In the case of a tie the winner will be the player that scored the most points in the sportsmanship category, then Generalship. Only after this can there be a complete tie. In addition to the overall champion, we will also give out a number of other trophies, which include: BEST FACTION PLAYER In addition to the normal tournament standings we will be giving prizes to the best player of each Faction. GENERALSHIP (0-60 points)
We have decided to use a simple procedure for working out the tournament points scored for Generalship. The system is based on a win/lose/draw system as follows; Win a game 20 Generalship Points. Draw a game 10 Generalship Points. Lose a game 0 Generalship Points A win, loss or draw for each mission is described in the missions section below.

SPORTSMANSHIP (0 15 Points) We have included this category to encourage players to take part in the tournament in the right spirit. Obviously we deplore unsporting behaviour and we hope that the points which can be earned for being a sporting and friendly opponent will discourage players from even thinking of acting in this manner. At the end of the last round you will be asked to rate your opponents; giving 1st, 2nd and 3 . Depending on how many of each you receive will determine your sportsmanship score between 0 and 15 points. The Black Hole is given to players caught cheating, being rude or
rd

abusive or generally spoiling other gamers weekends. The Black Hole can be won by any and every player, if you receive it then all your tournament points are put into the black hole, so you cant win anything else.

ARMY APPEARANCE (010 Points) Judging will take place to determine the best painted army. You will receive 5 points for having an army which has been painted to the basic standard. This means at least 3 distinguishable colours on all models. The remaining 5 points will be awarded in 1, 3 or 5 point increments to armies depending on the level of skill used to paint and model the army. If you did not paint the army yourself you will not be eligible for the trophy but still get points.

DROPZONE:LONDON 2013 Missions Booklet

There will be three games over the course of the day, with a maximum of 30 Generalship points available from each game. As stated above, the scoring is based on the objectives in the missions list. Work out if you have won, lost or drawn the game using the victory conditions given for each. Generalship points are then gained as follows: Won the game = 30 Points Drawn the game = 10 Points Lost the game = 0 Points

As detailed in the scenario rules, games are NOT decided on kill points if they would be a tie. In the event of a tie, this is counted as a draw, and both plays would receive 10 Generalship points.
