Vacation Bible School is being held July 22-26, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. nightly. The theme this year is Kingdom Rock.
Our ongoing conversations with Second Presbyterian Church regarding uniting our congregations are going very well. Our five-member team has been meeting regularly with their five-member team and we are making steady progress on writing the proposed Plan of Union. The Proposed Plan of Union will include recommendations on the following: Name of congregation Location of congregation Leadership model of congregation (bicameral or unicameral) Staffing for new congregation Method of combining assets, property and liabilities We plan to provide the Proposed Plan of Union to both sessions in July or August. Then, we will call congregational meetings at each church for a Sunday in September. One month prior to the meeting we will provide the congregation the Proposed Plan of Union so that you may review it before the vote at the congregational meeting. We will also have meetings in the weeks leading up to the congregational meeting at which members and friends may ask questions. If you have any questions at this time, please contact Deborah Dail or any other member of our Plan of Union Team (Dale Pennell, Fred Wong, Carolyn Woodard, Becky Skaar or Jim Wightman).

There are times when your only transportation is a Leap of Faith. Our church has long been in need of a van to provide transportation for those who would otherwise be unable to attend Church, Sunday School, Faith Weavers and our Summer Lunch Program. We have long been in need of a vehicle for Prime Timers to use on their short jaunts and adventures. We also need a vehicle for carrying supplies hither and yon for our homeless programs and for our youth when they have an activity off the Church grounds. We need a vehicle to help our senior adults attend events at the church when they are unable to drive. We have so many opportunities to share our love of Christ if we can bring people into our lives that would be unable to get here without transportation. I have taken my own Leap of Faith and will be chairing the efforts to raise the money for the purchase of a van. Will you take my hand and leap with me? From donations to ideas for fundraisers to prayers with the support of this congregation and the help of God I know we can do this! Verni Saunders 874-3923 veryverni@verizon.net

Pictured are Haiti Mission Team Members and their friends and loved ones who came to help at the second work day on Bill and Dee Jones' West Point property properly named, "The Rivah." Extensive yardwork, car detailing, powerwashing, and interior window washing had volunteers sweating all day in preparation for their mission trip to Haiti. Money donated goes towards this Summer's trip to Passe Catabois. This year, not only will team members be doing construction labor, but Denbigh Presbyterian will also be holding a three-day Vacation Bible School in the village of Myet (the village with the church family who took an offering for our church when we had an arson.)
