I couldn't help but notice that it looks like a decision has been made to do some
training with 3B for some mistakes that have been made. I also noticed that there
is a decision to bring over "FTO Coordinator" Ervin, I have a question about that
later, and Richard to do this training. I am confused. I wondered why I wasn't
used to help train the new hires recently and I am confused again why I wouldn't be
used in this situation. Have I done something wrong, I haven't been disciplined
for any reason. I haven't been notified that I was removed from the FTO program, I
even went to the last NAFTO conference. I seem to be left out of the loop on any
and all FTO decisions/info. Should I assume that I am no longer an FTO? Because
that is what it seems has happened without me knowing. I can understand maybe why
"FTO Coordinator" Ervin and Richard should do the training since they were supposed
to have trained them on these issues before. I know I should have asked why I
wasn't being used when all the new hires were coming in but with this new training
I couldn't hold back. Am I even asking the right people or should I ask the "FTO
Coordinator"? That leads me to another question, when was this position opened?
Does it include extra pay or duties and how come no one else was considered for
this position? I never saw the "FTO Coordinator" position posted for applicants.
Was it just assumed that no one would be interested, like the transport officer
position? I'm sorry if this email seems a little blunt but I've had these
questions for a while hoping something would be communicated to me before I had to
ask.

P.S. Since there is some retraining going on with 3B, why don't

As far as Okanogan, I called everyone to confirm and the only person I could not get hold
of was Noah. But he was given all the info and said they would be there. I tried
onMonday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well. He is on vacation so I guess somehow
it was overlooked. Oh well I spoke with Johnny and Tyler and they said it was a good
board anyway. Sooooo who are the transport officers?
( real bad news about (he had a Dr. appointment yesterday) so I did not run with
Kristin. I have taken Friday and Saturday off. I will tell you about it on Thursday.

CASE# 2008-14688
On 12/31/08 at approximately 2115hrs, I received a call over the raqio that a fight had
occurred in cell "B6." I responded from the Sergeants office to the jail to assist officer's Hoopii and Dement in
controlling the situation. As I entered the jail area Officer Hoopii had an inmate identified as
sitting in cell "Sl." Inmate was bleeding from the lip and yelling at Officer Hoopii about a towel as I
entered the cell. I immediately told Inmate to stop yelling. Inmate continued to yell and I told him he
needed to shut up, that we needed to figure out what had happened and that he needed to calm down. At this point
I was in front of Inmate asking him if he understood. Inmate said "No." I again told Inmate
that he needed to shut up and listen to what I was telling him as he continued to yell. As I was explaining to him
that we would review what happened, Inmate spit blood from the cut on his lip striking me in the face. I
then immediately turned Inmate face away from me with my left hand and forced him to lay flat on his
stomach on the ground. Officers Dement and Hoopii assisted by controlling the rest of his body. Inmate
continued to try and turn his face towards me so I applied pressure using the knuckle of my right middle finger
behind Inmate right ear and telling him to stop resisting and trying to spit on me. Inmate thy
complied with my commands and he was cuffed and placed in the "Wrap" with a spit shield over his face. Officer
Hoopii pointed out the blood on my face and I immediately returned to the jail control room to wash it off.
Renton Aid was summoned to the Renton Jail to treat Inmate lip from the altercation he had been involved
in previously in his cell. The Aid unit advised that Inmate needed to be transported to the hospital for
stitches .
. Prior to being transported to the hospital Officer Brunner was standing by with Inmate in cell "Sl,'' when I
entered and asked Inmate if he had intentionally spit in my face or had it been a mistake. Inmate
replied by stating" I plead the sth." Both Inmate and myself were treated at Valley Medical Center, Inmate
for the cut to his lip and myself for the blood exposure to my face.

SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT
CASE# 2008-14627
On 12/29/08 at approximately 1924hrs, Officer Ashbaugh was in the process of conducting
a DUI breath test on Mr. . I entered the BAC room to ask if Officer Ashbaugh
would be booking Mr. and she replied, "Yes." I began to exit the BAC room when Mr. who was
seated and cuffed to the "I" bolt on the wall mumbled something to me that I could not understand. I retumed
to the BAC room and asked him what he had said. He stated that he had AIDS. I had both my hands in my
pockets and Mr. was not presenting a threat, so I sat next to him on the bench to speak with him and
allow Officer Ashbaugh a few minutes to finish her paperwork so I could escort him into the jail. As I sat on
the bench Mr. began to slide over to me. I informed Mr. not to touch me and he immediately
stuck his right index finger in his mouth and attempted to place it in my left ear while stating that he had AIDS.
I took hold of Mr. right index finger and performed a counter joint bending it back toward his ann. I
told Mr. that his behavior is unacceptable and he needed to stop and calm down to which he did comply

I exited the BAC room and a few minutes later Officer Ashbaugh notified the jail staff that he was ready for
booking. Mr. changed into a jail uniform and did not complain of any injuries. He was then escorted to
cell "B2" without incident.
