    Purpose
    With this article you should be able to withhold Brazilian taxes in a down payment. For this functionality the following SAP Notes are essential: 916003, 815720, 747607 and 664855.

    Overview
    Withholding tax, also called retention tax, is a government requirement for the payer of an item of income to withhold or deduct tax from the payment, and pay that tax to the government. In a down payment, the withholding tax is withheld before the delivery of product / service. It will be explained in this wiki the steps to withhold tax in down payment.

    Involved transactions:
    F-47 and F-48.

    Withhold Tax Steps:


    The tax is withheld only with a Down Payment Request (transaction F-47) because it is necessary to inform a purchase document.

    Fill the field Purch.Doc and click on Withholding Tax button to check the taxes.

    Do not fill the taxes values. It should be blank.

    Save the document.

    The next step is post the vendor down payment, transaction F-48. Click on Requests button to show the down payment requests available.

    Mark the down payment request document and click on "Create down payments" button.

    The withholding taxes will be shown. Do not change the values and click on "accept".

    You will come back to the main screen.

    In the main screen, click on "Document >> Simulate" to check the line items.

    The document's line items are shown with MP135 taxes.
