The Mathemrticel Society of the PhilippiEc* (MSP) - Reeion 9 Chapter invites you to participate in its 4th Regional ConveEtion rnd Scnimn\forkshop which will be held on April i9-20 ,2013 at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall. Ateneo de Zamboanga University, La Purisima Campus, Zamboanga Ctty.
Invited as plenary speakers are Dr. Ian June Gtrces, a frculty member of the Ateneo de Manila University and former coach of the Phitippine delegates for the lntemational Math Olympiad; Dr. Lorna Almocera, MSP-Cebu President, University of the Philippines, Cebu City; and, Dr. Johnny Amora, statistician/consultant of De la Salle College of Saint Benilde, Manila City. The seminar-workshops primarily aim to enhance teachers' matlrematical skills in solving nonroutine worded problems including some Philippine Mathematical Otympiad questions, and doing categorical data analysis using SPSS.

Dates and Venues: The conference will be held on Friday and Saturday, l9-2A April 2013, at the Sauras Hall, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Zamboanga City. The convention will start at 8:fi) a.m. of April 19,2013.

Contributed Talks: Short (15-20 minutes) contributed paper presentations will take place in parallel sessions for Mathematics Education, Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Applied
Mathematics.

you wish to give a contributed talk, please send your title and abstract to romeo_4747@yahoo.com and/or dainie_20ffi@yahoo.com on or before 31 March 2013. The program committee shall review requests for contributed talks. You will
receive a notification of acceptance/non-acceptance on or bcfore 05 April2013.
