This virtual journal is a selection of previously published, peerreviewed articles with expert editorial comments covering all aspects of the modeling, design, fabrication, and testing of radio frequency integrated circuits and systems. See pages 9, 27, and 36.
IEEE RFID VIRTUAL JOURNAL
This virtual journal is a collection of papers on the topic of RFID from IEEE publications. It includes all aspects of RFID theory, techniques, devices, and applications including tags, readers, systems and associated interfaces. See page 41.
IEEE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS LETTERS
This periodical will publish short, high-quality manuscripts on advances in the state-of-the-art of wireless communications. It will accept both theoretical contributions and practical contributions (e.g., system experiments and prototypes). See pages 12, 35, and 39.

Reduced Dues Plan Eases Transition from Student to Professional
IEEE offers a reduced dues plan to support the transition of Student members into the professional world. If you are an active IEEE Student or Graduate Student member in good standing transferring to any other grade, you pay 50% of the full membership rate for your first year after graduation. This applies to both IEEE membership and Society memberships, and is a one-time-only offer. If you are eligible, your invoice will automatically reflect the reduced rates.

Philanthropy and Altruism at IEEE
Interdisciplinary in scope and global in reach, IEEE Foundation efficiently manages both fund raising and fund distribution to support educational projects, humanitarian initiatives, historical preservation, scholarships, fellowships, and the recognition of scientific and engineering excellence. The IEEE Foundation provides philanthropic services in support of the IEEE core purpose to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. To fulfill its role, the IEEE Foundation relies on donations to award grants to charitable organizations with new and innovative projects. It also administers more than 130 donor designated funds that support a variety of IEEE programs. Thanks to the altruism and generosity of IEEE members and friends during 2011 dues renewal, the IEEE Foundation accomplished the following: Managed and invested nearly US$31 million in more than 130 different donor designated funds Awarded US$590,550 through 25 grants to support technological education, innovation and preservation Awarded US$2.1 million in program support for math and science education, promoting engineering as a profession, recognizing member contributions, preserving technological history and advancing technology for humanity Raised nearly US$200,000 for engineering educational and professional rebuilding in Haiti and Paksitan Supported the IEEE History Center efforts including the IEEE Global History Network, the Significant Technological Achievement Recognitions Selections (STARS) and the IEEE Milestones in Electrical Engineering and Computing Awarded 11 grants to initiatives of interest to IEEE Life Members There is much more that we can accomplish together. Some projects cant be supported by membership dues alonefor those initiatives it is important for IEEE Foundation to have discretionary resources now and in the future, especially in the areas of education and humanitarian initiatives. IEEE Foundation and IEEE thank all of you who have contributed and who continue to make a difference. The Committee coordinates IEEE TAB efforts relating to RFID and RFID-related systems. RFID is an enabling technology that is an automatic identification method for retrieving and accessing data using devices called RFID tags or transponders. The basic RFID system includes tags, readers, and associated interfaces. Its applications include indentification, tracking, asset management, security and verification, logistics, access control, location, and authentication.
