to freeze, will evaluate for April depending on
demand.
MG has been unsuccessfully trying to reach
Partners in Nutrition. After application, they will
consider granting up to 15% of costs up to $4500.
A “snack” program that must have 2 food groups
represented, a “breakfast” program must have 3
food groups represented. All food must be
prepared at the school and have access to double
sinks for proper sterilization. A good location in the
school is unclear. JM mentioned that another
school received a large grant to put in a new
kitchen. He also mentioned that is takes 17
volunteers to run the program for 2 days.
We will need a sub-committee to call local
businesses to see if they are willing to donate funds
or give a discounted price on foods. Also need to
look at a produce distribution company in Dundas
that may help.
Also talked about having bins in each class with
healthy snacks in them.
Mr. Morlog has given Home and School $200 to
startup; H&S will put profits from Holiday Baskets
$1000 towards this initiative.
Staff Appreciation Lunch DM: Still working on it. A sign-up sheet will go out JL
like last year.
Family Dance DM: Some concern over the date. Is it too close to SD
the neighbourhood dance? SD suggested that we
move it to the end of May. Attendees discussed and
felt the April 30 date would be okay, end of May may
get too close to the year-end picnic. Also Mr.
Morlog may not be able to change the date for the
school.

purchase and take back what we didn’t sell, but the
supplier wouldn’t do it. The selection is the same as
last year. Orders need to be in on April 30. Decided
that parents would need 2 weeks with the order for and
it should go out on April 16th and ask for them back by
April 27th. Will need volunteers on the day of to help
distribute the flowers. Maybe 2 hour slots. Would like
to distribute in the Kindergarten play area, so they are
more visible.
