    Goddoesanswerprayersbutthereisacatchthatmanypeopleseemtooverlook.Inbiblical historymanyansweredprayersweregivenasexamplesintheHolyBible.Oneprominent exampleiswhenAbramprayedforason.ManypeoplepraytotheLordbutfewbelievethatHe hasanyrealpowertodoanything.Thecatchtogettingyourprayersansweredisbelief,yousee therewasonlyonetimetheLordcannotorwillnotperformmiraclesisifpeopledonotbelieve thatHecanorwill. AbramwasconcernedbecausehedidnothaveasontocarryonhisnameandtheLord realizedAbram'sfearandtheLordtoldAbramnottobeafraidbecauseHe(theLord)ishis shieldandthatAbramhadagreatrewardcomingsoon. AfterthesethingsthewordoftheLordcameuntoAbraminavision,saying,Fearnot,Abram:I amthyshield,andthyexceedinggreatreward.Gen.15:1 HowAbramaskedforason AbramprayedtotheLordaskingGodwhowouldbehisheirbypointingoutthathe(Abram) didnothaveasontobehisrightfulheirsohisstewardEliezerofDamascuswouldhavetobe hisheir.NoticethatAbramdidnotjustsay,Godwillyoupleasegivemeason?,butinstead AbrampointedouttoGodtheveryimportantreasonwhyAbramneededason.Abramprayedto theLordtellingHimthathe(Abram)didnothaveason(anheir)ofhisown,whilepointoutthat hisstewardwouldendupashisheirbecausehehadnoson. AndAbramsaid,LordGodwhatwiltthougiveme,seeingIgochildlessandthestewardofmy houseisthisEliezerofDamascus?Gen.15:2 AndAbramsaid,Beholdtomethouhastgivennoseed:andandlo,oneborninmyhouseis

    mineheir.Gen.15:3 TheLordanswersAbramsprayer TheLordansweredAbram'sprayertellinghimthathewillhaveanheirofhisown Andbehold,thewordoftheLordcameuntohim,saying,Thisshallnotbethineheirbuthethat shallcomeforthoutofthineownbowelsshallbethineheir.Gen.15:5 AbramandSaraweregettingoninyearsandSarawaswellpastherchildbearingyears.Yetthe LordassuredAbramthathisheirswouldnumbermorethanthestarsinheaven. Andhebroughthimforthabroad,andsaid,Looknowtowardheavenandtellthestars,ifthoube abletonumberthemandhesaiduntohim,Soshallthyseedbe,Gen.15:5 AbrambelievedtheLord AbrambelievedthattheLordwouldprovidehimwithason,anheirfromhisownbowelsand healsobelievedthathisseedwouldbeasnumerousasthestars. AndhebelievedintheLordandhecountedittohimforrighteousness.Gen.15:6 Abram AbramandSarahdidindeedhaveasonandnamedhimIshmael.HadAbramnotbelievedthat theLordcouldmakeithappenIshmaelwouldnothavebeenconceived. TheoneandonlytimeChristcouldnotperformmiracles Stopandponderonthisamoment.WhileJesusChristwasstillonthisearthinhumanformhe performedmanymiraclesbuttherewasonlyonetimethathecouldnotperformamiraclethis incidentseemstobeconvenientlybypassedbymanyteachersoftheword.TheonlytimeJesus ChristdidnotperformmiraclesonhisjourneywaswhenhewasinHisownhometownwherehe wasraisedbyhisearthlyfatherJosephandmotherMary. Andtheywereoffendedinhim.ButJesussaiduntothem,Aprophetisnotwithouthonour,save inhisowncountry,andinhisownhouse.Matt.13:57 Andhedidnotmanymightyworkstherebecauseoftheirunbelief.Matt.13:58 Soyouseethatwecanaskmanythingsinprayerbutthereareafewcatchestogettingyour prayersanswered.YoumustfollowJesusChristsexampleofprayer,TheLordsprayer,you mustaskinJesusChristsHolyname,youmustnotaskamiss,andyoumustcompletelybelieve thattheLordcanandwillansweryourprayers.
