elementals can go beyond the controlling range of Ithaqua with no con centration required on his part. Ithaqua may also control w eather (as the spell) with double the range and effects. Ithaqua strikes twice per melee round doing 2-16 points o f strong buffet damage per hit. The Lord o f Air is especially damaged by magical fire attacks taking 2 hit points extra per die o f magical fire damage accrued. He wanders the skies, remaining quite aloof from the other gods o f this mythos. Yig. Supreme God of Serpents Armor Class 3/5 Magic Ability see below M ove- 18 Fighter Ability 15th Level Hit Points 125 Psionic Ability Class 6 Yig is represented as a great (17+) long snake, although he (it?) may alter shape slightly to appear as a Naga (see M onster M anual), with the upper part o f the body appearing as a human and the lowrer that o f a snake Yig moves silently, detects enemies and tracks as a ranger, all with 100% efficiency. He surprises opponents on a six-sided die roll of 1-4. Yig controls all serpents within a one square mile radius o f himself When encountered near his lair he will be attended by 2-20 (4-6 hit die) giant snakes (always of the venomous variety). Yig strikes for 2-11 hit points fang damage plus a poison injection upon a success ful hit This roll is at -3 to the die roll and all those failing to make their saving throw die immediately. Yigs armor class (as explained above) is 3 for the head and 5 for the chest and underbelly. Yog Sothoth, the Key and Guardian of the Gate Armor Class 2 Magic Ability 15th level Move 24" (see below) Fighter Ability 20th level Hit Points 300 Psiomc Ability Class 1 Yog Sothoth exists on a fourth dimensional plane which allows him to enter the universe at any point in space and any point in time. His fourth dimensional shape appears as a congeries o f irridescent globes like giant soap bubbles. When he takes shape in our universe he is partly material and partly ethereal and appears as a gigantic mass of feelers, legs and stalked organs. In this shape he will mate with human beings, producing the Spawn o f Yog Sothoth (The Dunwich Horror). He is highly intelligent but extremely chaotic and unpredictable. He can gate in, out o f time and space, any o f the spawn or subject races o f the Old Ones, or any of the D&D demons from the sub dimensions of helL one per melee round. Yog Sothoth is not subject to the laws o f space and time and can, for example, appear at various parts o f the universe simultaneously.

The Great Race Armor Class 5 Magic Ability (see below) Move 12 Fighter Ability 6th level Hit Points 30 Psionic Ability Class 1 T hese creatures (The Shadow Out o f Time ) populated the earth a billion o r m ore years ago and their cities still exist buried in the great Australian desert. T hey are ten foot high cones, ten feet w ide at the base w ith four ten foot tentacles at the top. Two tentacles end in lob ster-like claws, one in trum pet-like ears and one in a yellow globe two feet in diam eter w ith three eyes along its circum ference and a set o f m anipulating tentacles dependent from it. The creatures m ove rapidly b y expanding and contracting the m uscular base o f the cone. These creattires are highly intelligent, telepathic, and scientifically advanced. They have no m agical pow ers but m any technological devices such as air ships and energy beams. They can project their minds backward and forward in time and across interstellar space. They then seize control o f the m ind o f any intelligent creature, displacing the other m ind into the body o f the m em ber o f the Great Race. Such captive m inds are well treated, encouraged to teach the Great Race about their ow n tim e and eventually sent back to their original bodies with memory o f the exper ience erased. U nlike the servants o f the O ld Ones, the G reat R ace is law ful and neutral. The Old Ones A misnomer, since this refers not to the ancient gods, but to a minor race o f interstellar beings. end o f the barrel. The upper set o f tentacles end in eyes and mouths, the low er set are m uscular legs w ith triangular feet or fins. The O ld Ones are intelligent and scientifically advanced and once had a highly techno logical civilization. They w ere exterm inated by a form o f artificial life w hich they had created them selves: the Shaggoths. The Old Ones are basically hostile to other intelligent races, but they are lawful, not chao tic. The Mi-Go, the Fungi from Yuggoth, the Abominable Snow Men Armor Class 3 Magic Ability (see below) M ove 15, fly 30 Fighter Ability 8th level Hit Points 35 Psionic Ability Class 5 Eight foot high, m any legged, red, crab like creatures w ith two great bat-like w ings, the M i-G o are found in m ountain wilderness, the H im alayas and V erm ont. It is w orshipped by people that live in m ore damp places w here Shub-N iggurath likes to roam . Shub-N iggurath m ated w ith Hastur to produce Ithaqua, Lliogor, and Zhar, entities o f the wind. An Arabic volume of the Necronomicon, called A1 A zif does exist. The Celaeno fragm ents, the B o o k o f E ibon, and the P naknotic Manuscripts are equal if not superior to the Necronomicon. Cthugha is fourth on the list o f Great Old Ones, his hits should be raised to 300, and Nyarlathotep raised to 295. If youre wondering who is number one YOG-SHOTHOTH his hits should be raised to 400. You can say that is rather powerful; youre dam n right. The G reat O ld O nes are so pow erful, that the total pow er o f the Elder Gods could not destroy them; only imprison them. A s far as your Byakliee, there is no evidence for a 100 hit bird; m aybe fifty. The Shantaks, a m ountain o f a bird, could be classified as a 100 hit creature. The Deep Ones can actually progress in levels as a magic-user. The Great Race o f Y ith only 30? I f so the universe w'ould be con trolled by the Great O ld Ones them selves!!!! They are m ore like 100 hits apiece. Try Prim ordial Ones instead o f Old Ones from the M ountains o f Madness. Using Old Ones twice is not only redundant o f another crea ture (the Great Old Ones), but confusing. Instead of Shaggoths, these creatures are known as Shoggoths, These m ay seem trivial, but if H ow ard Phillips Lovecraft, Augest Derleth, or Robert H ow ard saw your use, theyd roll over in their graves not once but at least ten times. The Dragon
Richard Upton Pickman was a Boston painter who disappeared in 1927. His family was o f old Salem stock, and one ancestor was hung as a witch in 1692. Pickman was a noted genius who specialized in painting the m orbid and bizarre. His m ost fam ous painting w as Ghoul Feeding. Its disgusting realism was the main reason that the Boston Art Club and all respectable galleries shunned Pickman and his paintings, Richard Upton Pickmans paintings were realistic for a good reason they were copied from photographs. When Pickman grew weary of this world, he disappeared through one o f the m any tunnels the ghouls had dug under N ew England. Journeying deeper and deeper into the black, dank burrow , Pickm an eventually crossed through the Gate of Deeper Slumber, into the Realm o f Dream. He joined the ghouls in their lairs, slowly devolving into a ghoul himself, though he retains more human features and mannerisms than is normal among ghouls. P erhaps the rem nants o f his hum anity im pressed the ghouls, or maybe it was his talent for leadership or his artistic genius. For whatever reason, Richard Upton Pickman first became a noted ghoulish advisor, w hen was chosen as king by one large band o f ghouls. He is always accompanied by a bodyguard o f 8 ghouls and 4 ghasts. He wears +3 plate armor (no shield) and carries a +1 sword which is +4versus ghoul enemies (most living creatures). Pickman has acted as a civilizing and restraining influence on his ghoul band, hence the change from evil to neutral in alignment While somewhat temperamental, particularly when he regresses into his more ghoulish personality, Pickman is still impressed by Victorian and Ed wardian manners. He may befriend a player character who acts like a gentleman. Richard Upton Pickman will not take it kindly if members o f his bodyguard are turned away. An evil Cleric can only befriend the ghouls if his charisma (toward ghouls) is greater than Pickman's. Before his devolution grew too extreme. Richard Upton Pickman painted seven magical paintings which he carries with him in a back pack. Each painting is one foot square and has a save versus fire o f 10. Player characters w ho gaze upon a painting are liable to suffer the magical effect of that painting. Only ghouls from Pickmans band are immune, having admired the paintings countless times. Pickman may display one painting per round, even if he is under attack. He may use a painting as a shield, flashing it in the eyes o f an attacker while slashing with his own sword. Richard Upton Pickmans paintings are: 1. The Lesson (A circle of nameless dog-like things in a church yard teach a small child how to feed like themselves.1 ') Unless a save versus spells is made, the player character is changed into a ghoul. 2. Ghoul Feeding (description self-evident from title). Treat as a Fear spell.
