THE HEALTHCARE SPECIALIST

Norwoods new Mediline Healthcare Partition system has been welcomed by the NHS and is widely regarded as a key product for building future-proof hospital partitions, where there is a need for an advanced demountable partition, with builtin fire rating and facilitates easy maintenance. Providing a full range of steel mono block and fire rated bi-panel demountable and relocatable partition systems, together with complimentary door sets, Norwood designs healthcare partition systems to individual client specification The recent development of our Smart Panel which has the flexibility of the system features the ability to vary the panel thickness from 80mm to 600mm providing a clear void to house and conceal a range of services. Many services can be pre planned and installed into the modular flush panels prior to delivery to site, items such as, medical gasses, data, electrics, nurse call, IPS units along with housing surgeons panels, visual display units etc. There is no requirement for follow-on finishing trades a factor which significantly reduces the on-site build program with panels factory prepared, manufactured to size and pre finished all result in less waste. Our Healthcare partition systems are designed to provide aesthetic appeal, optimum functionality and durability. With a reputation for designing high-end healthcare partitions, Norwoods steel partitions compliment even the most innovative architectural designs. The mono-block steel partitions used in healthcare environments can be constructed using steel panels and either partial or full glazing. Doors and door frames can be fully integrated into the design of the healthcare environment and manufactured to any specification or finish required. Security, fire safety, privacy, glazed viewing Healthcare partition systems are coated in electro-statically applied epoxy polyester powder coating and available in a wide range of colors suitable for the healthcare environment.

Application: For Medical and Healthcare Environments Detailed Description: Mediline is a flexible partitioning system designed and manufactured for medical and healthcare applications featuring controlled, high quality manufactured components. Mediline is a bi-panel partitioning system consisting of formed panel skins and innovative pre engineered studs. Mediline is suitable for areas such as Operating Theatre suites, single and multi bed wards, pharmacies, laboratories, recovery and isolation rooms, consultant rooms etc The Mediline system can be tailored to suit individual project requirements with panel widths from 300 mm to 1000 mm complete with glazed units and a range of door options and styles. The flexibility of the system features the ability to vary the panel thickness from 100mm to 600mm providing a clear void to house and conceal a range of services. Many services can be pre planned and installed into the modular flush panels prior to delivery to site, items such as, medical gasses, data, electrics, nurse call, IPS units along with housing surgeons panels, visual display units etc Mediline Smart Wall is designed for wards and bed head applications. Smart Wall is a range of offsite fully integrated and serviced panels. Designed to create a complete, pre finished, flush serviced bed head wall or a serviced panel integrated flush into a plasterboard wall. A further feature of the bi-panel construction allows the system to be used as a 70mm wall lining system by using part of the engineered stud and one panel skin ideal for refurbishment projects. The system allows all the studs to be constructed prior to the panel skins being fixed this allows any first/second fixed items to be housed prior to the panel skins being located. The formed panel skins are friction locked either side onto the vertical engineered studs. This allows either skin, from either side, to be demounted providing access to the partition void for service and maintenance.

All panels are factory finished in a durable vinyl coating which is anti bacterial and anti static with door frames and steel leaves finished in a high quality epoxy polyester powder coating in exterior grade polyester, applied at 18 20 micron dry film thickness over 4 6 microns of anti corrosive primer as supplied by BASF. The gloss level will be 35% +/- 5% depending on substrate interaction. There is no requirement for follow-on finishing trades a factor which significantly reduces the on-site build program. With panels factory prepared, manufactured to size and pre finished all result in less waste. A standard module size is 1000 mm wide x 100 mm thick by project height. The Mediline system offers Class O spread of flame, 30 minute and 60 minute fire rating. The system offers flush double and triple glazed units. Panel construction: Formed panel skins of 0.8mm pre coated steel on a galvanized substrate and complete with a 12.5mm sheet of plasterboard bonded to the reverse of each panel skin. Nominal system thickness: Double skin - 100mm as standard Wall Liner - 70mm as standard Maximum panel height in one module: Up to 4000mm refer to Norwood for heights above this size. Panels can be multi tiered. Module width: From 300mm up to 1000mm in 100mm increments. Module Junctions: Factory pre made corner and three way junctions Panel connection: Panel skins are friction locked onto the vertical stud giving a 4mm gap between each panel skin Panel joint infill: Option of push in flush PVC dry gasket, silicon or acrylic seal Base detail: Recessed section, allowing the floor finish (e.g. vinyl) to be formed to finish inset to the panel skin Head detail: Head channel 100mm x 50mm x 3000mm Panel infill: Clear void as standard with the option of 80kg rockwool infill for 60 minute fire rating and increased sound performance Performance: Fire resistance to BS 476 22: Solid panels 60 minutes integrity and 30 minute insulation, triple glazed modules (above dado) 30 minutes integrity.

GUIDE TO STAINLESS SIEEL FINISHES

lntrod uctio n
Stainless steels are a famity of materials with

a unique set of properties. Protected by a chromium oxide film at the surface which is
formed by a reaction of the chromium in the

steeI and the oxygen in the atmosphere, stainless steels require no added surface
protection against corrosion. ln the event of

the surface becoming damaged, the film

immediatety self repairs in the presence of
oxygen. As iltustrated later in this brochure

This electro-chemicalprocess is suited to both

sheet and intricately shaped components. The process is used to improve the surface
of the material by removing the 'peaks and troughs' of the irregular surface to leave a

smoother surface and an enhanced reflectivity. The degree of smoothness, and reflec-

tivity that results from this process, wi[[ depend upon the roughness of the initial materialand it should be noted that it may
not produce the mirror reflectivity achieved by mechanical polishing process. Non-metallic surface inctusions can be removed by this process.
lmproved corrosion resistance results from the smoother surface which is also less susceptible to harbouring of contaminants and
is also easier to clean and maintain.
