ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION AND ASSESSMENT _________________________________________________________________________ (MTH1022) (MATHEMATICS 2) (APR 2013) _________________________________________________________________________ INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS 1. This assignment contains only THREE (3) questions that are set in the language of the printed module for the course. 2. Answer in English. 3. Your assignment should be typed using 11 point Arial font and 1.5 line spacing. 4. Do not copy the assignment question and instructions to your answer. 5. You must submit your assignment by HARD COPY. 7. Your assignment must be submitted between (submission period). Submission after (submission period) will NOT be accepted. 8. Your assignment should be prepared in a group. You should not copy another groups assignment. You should also not plagiarise another groups work as your own. 9. ASSIGNMENT QUESTION PURPOSE At the end of this assignment, students will be able to: 1. Explain the use of statistical in daily life. 2. Understand and know how the concept and technique of data presentation. 3. Solve and interpret the data in effective communication.

REQUIREMENT Part A: 1. Discuss briefly in your group why Statistics are important in daily life. Include suitable pictures. [MO1] Part B: 1. Collect at least 50 to 100 data based on the variables given in your class. Attach your collection data. [MO1] 2. Construct a frequency distribution table for each variable as in Table 1. 3. Based on the frequency distribution table constructed: a. Draw two (2) types of statistical graphs to represent each of the data for each variable (draw the graphs by using Microsoft Office Excel). [MO2] b.
